For over 30 years, TCWR has rescued over 500 animals from private owners, roadside zoos, and situations of abuse and neglect. To rescue is just the beginning. We provide these animals with a lifelong home and care, rehabilitating them physically and mentally in a life of sanctuary.
Through public education, and specifically the education of our children, we work to end the Big Cat Trade. Together, we can preserve and protect these magnificent and endangered animals making sanctuaries like Turpentine Creek no longer necessary.
Kiara is fourteen years old and she was rescued by TCWR in February of 2020 from a roadside zoo.
Founded in 1992, TCWR started out as a family’s mission to rescue big cats and has since transformed into a globally recognized animal sanctuary partnering with some of the largest organizations in animal welfare and conservation.
