Darien Lakes State Park

Check in staff was great! The grounds look clean and well cared for. The shower house and bathrooms are not new, but they were clean. I looked at several sites and they all were free of trash, and the fire pits were cleaned out. Being after Labor Day the beach was closed. I was at Site 88. it is laid out in a L shape; the fire ring was in a small cove in the trees. This made for very secluded site. None of the sites are full hook up. Electric is available at most sites, 50/30 and 15 amp outlet setup. water is available through out the camping area. The dump station is showing its age but still is useable. They have dumpsters for trash, they are at the dump station, Some of the sites are open with no shade, others have a tree or two for shade. I see they started to pour pads for the trailer sites. Some sites could use a little more stone. There are several play areas for kids, they look new. The road was in good condition; it is mostly one way. There are hiking trails that take you into the wooded area, these are not maintained surfaces, roots, mud, rocks and grass are major portion that you will be walking on.

Well kept campground. We stayed at site 106. Sites all looked pretty level, easy to back into, with good space between campsites. Water spigots, bathrooms, and playgrounds are throughout the campground making it all very convenient. Scattered trees for shade with a lot of open grassy space. Pond with beach area located at the entrance.

Nice site. Trees for shade. Pretty lake with fish. Check site length before coming because some sites are short. Restrooms were clean. Workers at the check in were super friendly and helpful. Plan on stopping on return.

Very nice and clean park with "beach in progress" and lake. showers are ok for free. sides are pretty big but maybe too open so you have no privacy. tent side $20. fire rings and tables. great camp for family with kids
