Big Eddy Park

This is our 3rd camp out at this Big Eddy county park. Nice location on the Nehalem River with full service and partial service sites. The last 2 visits were fairly quiet. This visit on Memorial Day weekend presented with a packed park all with family atmosphere. The Park offers a packed dirt boat, launch appropriate for kayaks, canoes and tubes. The Eddie is fairly shallow and popular with kids and families for swimming and floating. Very nice camp hosts with fire wood to purchase at a good price delivered to your site upon purchase. The camp is full of established, foliage and beautiful surroundings. The back row of the park is along the highway where we did not stay and sounds like it could be fairly noisy at times. We will be staying here again, not on a holiday weekend.

I did not stay here, not the right time, but a drive-thru revealed a lovely well-maintained park. There are electric sites available, a couple with premium placement right on the Nehalem River. There is one row that backs right up to the highway. Clean, tidy, well-spaced sites. Did not check the restrooms. No AT&T service. About 15 miles from grocery store/services in Vernonia.
