We’d planned to stop for a quick lunch in our RV on our way to Big Bend, but took a hard pass when we saw the tight turns and close trees we’d have to navigate to get in and out. There is a larger roadside park further down TX-118 more suitable for RV’s.

Unsure if same picnic area on the road but 30 9'21.97"N 103 35'2.49"W is a great picnic pull off area for overnight (see google earth). You can get well off the road and there are rubbish bins. Sign posted to allow 24 hour camping in the area. This is the best spot traveling from I10 to Big Bend via Fort Davis and alpine on the 118.
