Actual campground is about 1/4 mile due north of where symbol is placed on map. The hybrid map shows route 42 taking a right angle turn from where it climbs a series of switchbacks from the East out of Monument Valley and turns North; that is where the new campground (under construction) begins. From that right angle in the road the campground runs North and is laid out either side of what is marked (route) "42" on the map. I was there late April 2014 and was told the construction has been a long drawn out process. Campground provides nice vistas. Monument Valley visitor center with it's restaurant, rest rooms and gift shop is a short walk to the south. As it was under construction at the time, we did not stay here but about 1 mile to the West in a primitive campground (see map.)

Brand new June 2014
All pull thru, adequate space
One small bath house, if the campground is full might be problem
Dump and fresh water available. No hookups at any site
Right on the canyon rim with amazing views close to restaurant . Also quite a few new cabins for rent and tent camping on the dunes overlooking the valley.
