Naval Observatory Access Rd Dispersed Area

No boondocking in this area any more, sadly Call Coconino NF to find out if there are any areas to dry camp/boondock.

Camp closed. Was told must go north or west "dispersed" camping

the pros... very close to town, only four or five miles from shopping. 2) no dreadful bumpy road.All hardtop. 3) Beautiful scenery. >>>>>>>>> CONS ...... Not a lot of spots to choose from, but if your creative, you can find one. Summary...... I'm glad I found it here it's very good place to lay over and kill 4 or 5 days. So close to town, but forrest. I like that.

Low muddy spots, ground is kind of soft. Would not recommend big rigs here, just smaller RVs. If one goes too far in, would need 4WD. And, don't go up the road too far, for there is no turn around, just a sign that says authorized vehicles only, then a gate at the top.

We have camped here many times with no problems. You will occasionally have a someone living out of their car but never been an issue. Close to town.

Road in was rough. There is an abandoned pile of trash campsite next to me. I'm kind of stuck because of my toad. Trying to get out of here and go to the casino. This is my first bad experience where I have felt creeped out. Pickup truck driving by checking out my RV and someone driving by at 4am. A lot of back and forth trucks...
