Stayed 3 nights late January in my 30' Class A. Area is scenic and most visitors will position their RV towards the W/NW and canal, where the view is a large, flat expanse of lush agricultural land leading right up to the mountains in the distance. There seemed to be about 3 or 4 main camp areas, and I stayed in the one adjacent to and slightly above the canal, which provides a nice, low white noise as the water flows over a small spillway before emptying into the farming irrigation. I had no trouble getting into that area, but found myself wishing I had a 5th wheel, which would have allowed me to stay in one of the 2 plateau areas above mine where the view over the valley and mountains is even more spectacular. Yes, there are many ATV's that use the roads and trails in the area, but they were mainly occupied by mature weekend warriors who used them respectfully and didn't see any hell raisers or reckless idiots. At night it was awesome, to me at least, to see the huge cropduster aircraft make swooping passes up and down the fields below. They mainly were at it for less than an hour in the early evening. One intriguing feature is across the canal; a large garden of miscellaneous items, stuffed animals, wood carvings and many other tokens apparently left by many who have visited the site. It is called Snuggles Garden, and there are what appears to be several pet gravesites, including the one for Snuggles, all decorated with colorful stones and whatever other artifacts the pet owners or others have left on the ground, in the trees and wherever else. At night it is dotted with a dozen or so solar stake lights which flick on one by one ...I'd love to know the story behind it, and hope that anyone who knows some background or history of it will leave a comment here. I will stay here again in the future. Left ahead of a rain day as there are areas that appeared to have a good amount of clay mixed in with the hardpack, and didn't want to get 30 feet of RV stuck in mud.

Easy to get to in our 40 MH, which is saying a lot. Hard packed gravel, we had a nice level site. It was mostly quiet except for a domestic dispute at 2a outside our RV - they only stayed one night luckily. Typical genny runners throughout the day/eve. We didn't mind the crop dusters, it wasn't every night and they were quite entertaining - what a skill! The 4x4 traffic was to be expected. We only stayed a few days then moved on to Mittry Lake. Verizon 2 bars on cell, mifi 5 bars boosted. We would stay here again.
Water vending throughout Yuma at gas stations and Walmart - 5 gallons/$1.
This area is also referred to as Kool Corner or Gila Canal on some sites.
Location is about 30 minutes from most things in Yuma.
