Road construction make it impossible to even pull into the camp area. We decided to head further down the road to the Winnie Stowell County Park 17.3 miles north.

Drove on beach with 2wd van. Narrow one lane entrance opens up to 15 ft wide packed, but bumpy sand road edged with dunes and a 2-3' rocky drop off from the packed sand road to the beach. No mosquito problem, but winds were howling. At low tide beach is narrow. Parked our van in a small pull-off to sleep. At 1 am several trucks wizzed by less than 3 ft from our window, pinging the side of the van with pebbles and sand. There is a large cross with crown of thorns in the front entrance. Great as a photo op or short rest spot, but Bolivar Flats is a better beach/overnight/stay the day option.
