The park was a lot cleaner as the week progressed. The park has a very bad reputation which I believe is not warranted. There are a lot of very very old rv's here and some of them need to be demolished. The roads are full of pot holes which make you slow down. I don't think it would be any worse with speed bumps. The primitive areas are scenic except there were few bathrooms and no showers. The section we were in, A2, was very nice, flat long and the utilities worked great. Security is excellent. They man the gate all night. The full-time residents are near the front and everyone else is in the back. Everyone we came in contact with was nice and helpful. The camp store was well stocked with parts and some food. The store was not overpriced.
Tips for the area:
Yorkville is less than 2 miles away. Try foxy's Ice cream.
Rowdy's bar I was told has the best burgers in the area.
Rosati's Pizza, try the stuffed pizza. it takes 45 minutes to make but it was worth the wait.
Joyce Lee Chinese buffet was very good.
At the office they will deliver 15 pieces of wood to your site for $5.

We stayed here with our camping club about 25 years ago. At that time the camping club members decided never to return due to flooding and general disrepair. My son and daugter-in-law stayed here last week for 3 days at $30.00 per. They took over 200 pictures and none were inviting. As one review stated at free it would not be worth it. My son said the current residents of the campground were seedy and dirty.

Office lady was very nice. However the park was nasty. This park could be very nice but all the junk around makes it an eye sore. We didn't feel comfortable here although they had security personnel around. Also the rules were not enforced that pertain to ATV's and motorbikes. Kids were also driving golf carts around as fast as they could go on all the roads in the park. Would not stay again.

Perhaps the worst dump I have ever stayed in. Nothing was maintained. Garbage sat alongside the road when we arrived, and was still there 3 days later. Many seasonal sites are truly embarrassing eyesores. Need I go on?

The staff is very friendly and helpful. Lots of trees and open all year.
