For Eklutna Lake Campground - Chugach State Park: We were looking for a place to stay that would be convenient to hiking trails near Eklutna Lake. We’re self-contained in our 25 foot MH and don’t use the facilities. We stayed on weeknights in late July. This is a nice, clean primitive (no hookups) campground located a short walk from Eklutna Lake and hiking trails starting on the west side of the lake. There are about 50 sites arrayed in a loop, most are generously sized with paved parking pads. Most need some leveling. Most sites are in the trees with good shade and privacy. There’re pit toilets around the loop and a dumpster near the entrance. There’s a water pump with a boil water notice. There’s no dump station. There’s no ATT or Verizon cell signal. There’s an overflow area with 8 sites near the CG which are parking spaces with picnic tables for $15. We arrived late in the afternoon and were able to get our choice of sites. We left on a Friday morning and the sites were filling up. The Lakeside Trail is a 13-mile gravel road on the north side of the lake, great for biking. The Twin Peaks Trail heads to a pass or peak and provides for nice views of the lake. Boating is allowed on the lake canoes, kayaks, electric motors only. There’s a kayak/bike rental vendor near the lake. Check the website for ATV/non-ATV days.

For Eklutna Lake Campground - Chugach State Park: We've been coming here for nearly 40 yrs but haven't been for the last 3 or 4 so things may have changed.
Beautiful campground and location. Many hiking, biking trails. Road to park is steep in places with no shoulders. Be careful if in a RV. Weather can change rapidly. If going out on the lake bring wind breaker and fleece. Life vests of course.
I don't remember any showers.
