For Rest Stop: Lenore Rest Area is truly a unique example of what all rest areas should be like. The grounds and facilities are maintained to a high standard. The rest rooms are very clean. The tall trees throughout the grounds create a shady oasis. The green grassy lawns are all well irrigated and neatly mowed. The picnic tables, pedestal barbecues, sidewalks and other facilities and improvements are all adequately clean and inviting. The RV Dump Station is well designed and is as cleanly maintained as everything else here. It’s best approached from the west-bound (most eastern) rest area’s entrance. If you are eastbound on the highway and so most likely enter the rest area using the western entrance, you would enter the dump station’s short turnout lane with the waste inlet on your vehicle’s passenger side. In other words you should approach the dump station from the east, assuming you want the waste inlet on your driver’s side. There is nonpotable rinse water available from a hose on a pedestal at the waste inlet. There is potable freshwater available from a clearly signed freeze-proof spigot with hose threads, about 25 feet forward of the waste inlet. Except for the separate truck parking area, there aren’t many longer parking spaces, but the rest area seems to be lightly used, so RV parking is most likely usually available.
