For Hickory Creek: Hidden gem! We came here unplanned without reservations and was able to get a great spot (#34) in one of the middle loops on the hill-lots of grassy space. The hosts were very helpful and let us park our camper and drive through the camp to pick our spot. We came after some heavy floods and 5 of the sites were underwater so we were thankful for the refuge in the hill. There were lots of full waterfront loops with people packed in like sardines, their back camper tires only feet from the water. No thanks! The bathrooms had plenty of hot water and pressure, although the floor was a little gross. We kept our shoes on and tried to not let anything touch the floor. The sites were electric only so we got to use our freshwater tank for the first time. Interestingly, we picked up a homeless approximately 1 month old kitten that ran up into our car engine while we were stopped to pay at the entrance. My husband was able to pull it out unharmed and our kids immediately swooned over it. So now we have a new pet. Overall, we wished we had more time to stay here.

For Hickory Creek: Nice COE park on a lake. Budget cuts have made a impact on maintenance so go while you can. Most sites are level.
