For Dateland Palms Village: Full hookups and trains. Good for one night if you need to stop. Concrete pads and sandy parking. Full hookups for $18. Trains are frequent, did not bother sleep. Laundry and bathroom, did not use. Gas station and convenience store nearby off the freeway with gift shop, ice cream, bakery and Pizza Hut. Foliage between sites.

For Dateland Palms Village: Stayed last night, lots of other campers, but roomy, level sights. Electric,.Dump, Clean showers and Laundry. Close to RR tracks, but no crossings so no whistles, Estimate one train an hour before I slept and was not awakened overnight. Gas, Quiznos, Date shop, Do-dads, Convenience store directly across the quiet road. Just off I-8. And get this: $18/night!

For Dateland Palms Village: The Travel Center and the personnel there were a pleasure. The road in had been cleared of sand and the campground was clean.
We were told to pick our own slot because we were the only campers, but there only about 8 fifty amp slots.
The location of the available 50 amp slots made it impossible to sleep at night with nearby ( very close) trains running at about 10 minute intervals.
It looked as though the park had once been successful, and I wondered if an increase in train activity had driven off RV Visitors and ruined the business.
