For Fort Tuthill Recreation Area: Great location with tons to do. The camp itself, while laid out to save the maximum number of trees, was not big rig friendly. Very small sites. 50 Amp and water at site. Ver, ATT, and TMob all worked at site.

For Fort Tuthill Recreation Area: Very pleasant, with many trees - really, you're in a forest. Wonderful people working here. Our site was on a small hill, but it was large enough to park our trailer next to our RV (site 02). We'd heard that there are sometimes concerts in the outdoor amphitheater near the campground and we experienced that on one night in our ten days here. It wasn't too loud and certainly wasn't a problem. Well, one problem - we had to wait for 5 or 10 minutes in a long line of cars to re-enter the park because we happened to return from town when everyone was arriving for the concert. :) Gravel bike paths that connect to the city and true singletrack hiking/mountain bike trails begin here. They connect to miles and miles of more singletrack in national forest lands. Many types of outdoor recreational opportunities are available in the Fort Tuthill county park around the campground, too. We loved staying here and will visit again! I put four stars only because our RV site was so slanted.

For Fort Tuthill Recreation Area: We have been holding our family reunions here for the past five years or so. Tuthill offers hotel rooms, cabins, A-frames, yurts, tent & RV sites, and even a home! We have made use of all types of lodging except the house. All family members have been happy with the accommodations. Not all RV Sites are level or easy to get into. Use extreme caution navigating thru the pines. Ken, in charge of Group Reservations and many other things, is a gracious Host and quick to address any concerns brought to his attention. He also cooks up great burgers and dogs every Friday evening during the summer months. For free. Like, no charge. You are encouraged to bring a side dish to share with fellow campers. Ours kids love it here. There is a game room, bicycle rentals, a playground, volleyball and basketball courts, and a great playground. The nearby Extreme Adventure Course offers an opportunity to walk thru the trees 30 feet above the forest floor. Tuthill serves as a great home base for day trips to the Grand Canyon, Oak Creek Canyon, Sedona, Walnut Canyon, Wupatki and many other attractions in northern Arizona. WiFi as of July 2015 is pretty much non-existent even in the hotel. Ken has been working to upgrade the system, so we will see if any progress has been made in 2016. Road construction at the entrance to Ft Tuthill was completed last year. Be aware there is also a Ft Tuthill County Campground located adjacent to the military campground. After entering Ft Tuthill County Park, follow signs to Luke AFB Recreation Area. My family and I plan to continue to enjoy all Ft Tuthill has to offer for many more years to come.

Coast to Coast
For Fort Tuthill Recreation Area: Traveling through for one night stay. A little hard to find location using GPS. Beautiful wooded area. Office Personnel give you a map then you have to go look for it no instructions on pulled through or if it is backup into. Our campsite was very unlevel. Some campsites need leveling. Not all are pull throughs even though they said it was. You can see on the trees where they tried to pull through and there RV hit the tree. You may need an extra hose to reach the water an extra power cord to reach the power. Showers do need upgrading with occupancy lights and combination lock on the door instead of a key issued to the camper. No Wi-Fi a campsite. No TV reception at campsite and no cable available.

For Fort Tuthill Recreation Area: This was a nice campground with a traditional feel to it. The pine trees were mature and provided good cover but we're not too thick. A rocky hillock next to our site was fun for our cat. There were 50 and 30 amp and water hookups with a sewer dump site available. The staff were pleasant and a laundry room was on site (we didn't use it). All in all, this was a pleasant campsite.

Brenda
For Fort Tuthill Recreation Area: Each summer we RV at Ft Tuthill to escape Tucson's heat. We have seen the improvements made in the campground as well as in the adjacent county park area. Great place to get into the woods. Bring your leveling blocks, some sites require them (especially after heavy rains). Campground is right along Flagstaff's Urban Trail system; great hiking and biking. This is a very family friendly park; if you want secluded, quiet camping without crowds and kids, look into nearby Camp Navajo. I hope they renovate the bath houses soon and get better Wifi speed. Great staff; check out their Friday burger burns for all guests. Relearn "nature camping" and park on the earth, not a slab.

Lucky Traveler
For Fort Tuthill Recreation Area: This campground is a little hard to find when getting off the highway. I am very happy we were doing it in daylight. The construction on the road near the park had something to do with the difficulty. The staff are friendly. The sites are not level but we were able to get close and for 2 days we can deal with it, we are camping. We have a 34' motor home. It fit easily. There seem to be a few more we can fit into as well. The pine trees smell wonderful. There is only water and electricity at the sites. There is a sewer dump close.
