Duke Garrett
For Apache Flats RV Resort: Without any doubt, the best RV Park we have ever stayed, either civilian or military. Quiet to the point you can hear a worm fart. Seriously, this place is extremely quiet, peaceful, relaxing, and for a guy with major PTSD issues I feel great peace here, safe, amongst my kind.
The staff here is wonderful, helpful and understanding. Everything is clean and taken care of. This should be a mold for military RV parks.
Roads are paved, nice concrete pads, the landscaping is beautiful. Lots of places to walk with your furry buddies on trails. Just a far above excellent place to be at peace and feel safe.
Thanks to Brenda and all the others that work here.

For Apache Flats RV Resort: This is a great park, nice and quiet. Not the best for dog as the in-park dog run is VERY small, unlike previous poster, we took our dog to the base dog park, two parks big and small dogs, never anyone there so our boy had the run of the place!

For Apache Flats RV Resort: Totally concur with Jeff below. Very historic fort. RV office can provide a walking tour map brochure. Highly recommend it. There is a great place to run your dog just outside of RV entry. Take dirt road to east to a large and unused PT field. I’d walk a mile on the track, my Springer would run three miles! He loved it, but clean up the poop! Nice day trip down to Coronado National Memorial. Tombstone and Bisbee can be seen in a day. Also a wine tasting region less than an hour away. The Indochine Restaurant has excellent Vietnamese food. Contrary to some reviews, both gates have easy access to the RV park. Look at Google maps satellite to get your bearings. The RV park is at the very back of the post. We’ll be back next year for sure.

For Apache Flats RV Resort: Follow directions given by David on March 29, 2018. My Maps program on my iPhone phone took me in without a problem. Gate off 90 that enters to Hatfield St. is 24/7. Buffalo Soldier Gate has limited hours.
Easy checkin, good service, map of base and surrounding area provided.
Paved roads, Level concrete slab, well placed utilities, nicely spaced sites. Concrete patio, charcoal grill and picnic table at every site. Sufficient parking for tow vehicle or toad. A number of large covered pavilions with lighting and grills. Large playground. Very quiet. Very windy.
Small fenced dog park, plenty of trails and lightly traveled roads to walk on
Internet is intermittent and is basically unusable. Cable tv no better, (site 5) snowy picture and sound breaks up.
Great laundry facilities.
Quiet area, remote on dead end road. Deer, coyotes, Javelina and rabbits plentiful.
Base has a public address system providing occasional announcements and a series of bugle calls as early as 6:30 am until taps at 10 pm. I suppose it’s necessary in base operations and scheduling but for those of us without a schedule.

For Apache Flats RV Resort: Drove all the way to campground. Did not call ahead but they had spaces. Needed an approved letter from garrison commander for covid 19 protocol. He was not in and maybe get approved in 4 days. I was stationed there in 74 and ended up 30 miles away in Benson

Bill Logan
For Apache Flats RV Resort: This is a jewel in the desert. Beautiful Huachuca Mountains background. Brenda and her staff are terrific. The MWR campground is on of the best in the country. Level and large spaces will accommodate most large rigs. Our 40-foot Keystone Montana and Ram 3500 truck had more than enough space. Full hookups, but if you need to use the dump, its free of charge.
Hint: Do not use your GPS to find the Park. If you are not careful, you will wind up at the seldom opened southwest gate and there is no place to turn around. Follow the SIGNS! Yes, they are small, but they are there. look for them. There are three gates to Fort Huachuca. The old main east gate ( which is now closed), the west main gate off off highway 90 Which is the only way in at this time and a rarely used SW gate which is also closed. DO NOT use the East gate! It is closed because the COVID-19 outbreak as there is no way to turn around especially if you have a big 5er. The gas station for diesel and propane at east gate is also closed. There are many places on Fry Blvd in Sierra Vista that sells propane. Barnett's is the cheapest, but don't try to take your rig there. It's small.

Harmony
For Apache Flats RV Resort: Not sure how anyone gets in this place.. Called the number, it gives you another number for reservations. I called that one with no answer. I did this off an on for about an hour. I called the other park, left a message with no return call. So about an hour later I called again and talked with someone about making a reservation for the night. A lady said I’ll give a message to Brenda. I said ok, thank you we have about 4 hours before we get there. Two hours later nothing.. Good thing I made reservations elsewhere because No one Ever called back..
