For Catalina State Park: Awesome Sate Park. Clean and QUIET with great hiking trails. Staff is super helpful and friendly. Spacious and level asphalt sites with phenomenal restroom facilities. Very convenient to shopping (Walmart) for supplies if needed. Higly recommend this park for all.

For Catalina State Park: Seriously one of the most beautiful SPs we’ve stayed out! Highly recommend if you’re wanting to stay on the Tucson area!

For Catalina State Park: My one WARNING in an other wise very favorable review.... Beware of burrs. After our first walk and finding burrs inside our rig, we checked our socks and pants legs for burrs, and took our shoes off outside then thoroughly checked them top to bottom. OK, that's done. We really enjoy this park and it's great views of the Catalinas. Large, level sires in a desert environment, so not much in the way of trees (it's not the Catalina Forest😎) Great hiking and even horseback riding available. If you are interested in local theater and music, the Gaslight Music Hall is just outside the park. Plus some great opportunities for dining out, in the mall across from the park entrance. And the first Saturday music in the park is an added bonus.

Happy Travels

For Catalina State Park: This is a very nice state park. We were there in mid-May and so many of the cacti were in bloom. We did not use the public facilities so no opinion there. We enjoyed the spacious sites and watching the prairie dogs all over the place! The park workers in the office were very nice and helpful! It’s very convenient to shopping and whatever else you might want to do in Tucson.

For Catalina State Park: Great State Park. This is our 2nd stay here. Pretty large sites. Seemed more " groomed " last year. Our site had a bunch of cigarette butts in the grill, pretty gross. I did clean them out. mostly just dirt in the area around the picnic table... We were lucky enough to be in AZ this year during the " superbloom" ! We hiked different trails each day enjoying many different flowers. We enjoyed live music in the park on Saturday night of our stay. Located off of very busy N. Oracle road. Lots of Big Box stores in the area. Did not use park facilities. Beautiful view of the Santa Catalina Mountains from our site.

For Catalina State Park: My wife and I consider this one of the best state park campgrounds we have visited. Good facilities, good hiking trails a good bicycling opportunities both inside and outside the park. We have stayed here three times in our 26 ft MotorHome and will return again.

Marie

For Catalina State Park: An ugly campground set down in the bottomlands in a floodplain. No screening of any kind between the sites, but at least the sites are large. Most people here seem to use the bathhouse, even the big RVs with big holding tanks. We don’t. It was disconcerting to watch people in various states of undress, including slippers and bathrobes and pajamas, tramping constantly thru the grounds. If you are lucky enough to get a site on the outside edge you will at least be spared having to watch the parade back and forth to the bathhouse. They need more dumpsters, which were full most of the time. With the heavy rains the campground was full of 3-foot-tall weeds, and the poor hosts were having to struggle with push mowers from the 1970s. No way they could get everything mowed so in addition to everything else, the campground was full of weeds. Yes there are plenty of trails in the adjacent mountains, but this review is about the RV park, not the State Park as a whole. Just not an attractive place to stay. At least the sites were large.
