For Surf Junction Campground: This is a great little campground with some smart amenities not at most places: community room with tables and wi-fi for those rainy days (which are frequent here), community fridge, microwave, water boiler, hot-tub!, on-site surf rentals and lessons. Most sites are quite small - organized for tents or <22' vans. A few sites near the entrance would be ok for larger rigs but navigating any large A class or trailer will be challenging or impossible. It's well-cared for with a mix of flush/ pit toilets, showers... all in great condition and maintained. Office has wi-fi and table to sit and coffee.

For Surf Junction Campground: We were looking for a place to stay in the general area that would be convenient to explore Ucluelet and Pacific Rim National Park. We’re self-contained in our 8 meter (25 foot) MH and don’t use the facilities. We arrived late on a Monday evening and there was only one full service site available ($37), and we stayed one night. This is a funky campground quite close to Ucluelet with a total surfer vibe. The sites are arrayed randomly where they fit in a forested area. There’re a variety of sites - tents, electric/water, full service. Most are level gravel/grass/dirt and tucked into the trees for shade and privacy. There are washrooms with pay showers and wetsuit drying rooms, garbage and recycling stations throughout. There’s a dump station ($5) and a free water filling station. There’s good ATT/Rogers and Verizon cell service.

For Surf Junction Campground: Warning....this campground has a lot of trees and narrow roads to the sights. We have a 40’ 5th wheel and even tho it says it can accommodate large RV's I would avoid unless you absolutely need to. If your any more then 30’ I would avoid if you can. I have been many campgrounds of all kinds and I can not understand for life of me why this sight receives so many strong reviews from trip advisor. There is no Park for the kids only a run down green area with a run down grass volleyball net. There are no trails for walking of any kind. The hot tub is outdated and warn down. It was warm water and not hot at all. The showers are warn out and cost 1$ a min and you need quarters. They work well when you get it up and running. They are very strict about noise past 11 which is good and bad. It is close to some of the beaches but at least a 1/2 hour form Tofino with traffic. The staff and owner are very nice. I think that is why I gave it a 3 star otherwise it would be a 2 just based on its current state.

For Surf Junction Campground: The staff are exceptional and the facilities excellent. We aren’t surfers, but they are definitely set up to accommodate the surfing crowd. It is a short, five minute drive into Ucluelet and the Wild Pacific Trail.

For Surf Junction Campground: Though October is supposed to be the rain season out on Vancouver Island, we were fortunate enough to have great weather for the first two weeks of it in 2012 for our yearly vacation. Both my wife and myself had done a lot of research on every single camping site out west, as we were determined to be close to the ocean.
Most places seemed to have mixed reviews, mostly based on each person's expectations of camping. When therefore ended up making online reservations at the Surf Junction campground in Ucluelet (B.C.). Back and forth communications were easy and cordial.
We arrived at the site somewhat early, but we were well greeted and were given our reserved site right away, with no extra fees, as it was already vacated and we didn't mind that it hadn't yet been cleaned up (we got to keep all the left over fire wood). The campground itself is wonderful! Our site was superb!! The personnel was simply the best! They were very friendly and resourceful, and most of all, they also were very patient (we did have our curious and playful three year old son with us).
Surf Junction isn't quite in Ucluelet. It's really just a stone's throw from the junction of the Pacific Rim Highway and the Tofino-Ucluelet Highway. Though we would have liked a campground actually on the beach, none offered the space we required (we have a huge tent), nor the privacy we desired, and certainly not in the price range we were willing to pay. We found the location to actually be an advantage to us as it enabled very short hops to make it to all the beaches (some we even walked to).
One thing we really enjoyed a lot was the hot tub at the campground. The prices for the showers were reasonable (but we would like a buzzer to notify the end of the hot water cycle). The fire wood was of decent quality and price, though it's not a bad idea to either purchase it from the Coop in Ucluelet or even anyone else who sells large quantities good quality at reasonable prices if you like doing huge fires like we did.
We did end up deciding to try our luck at surfing (we hadn't gone there for that) and the staff was very helpful! Equipment rental was affordable and advices were never in shortage (staff really was helpful and patient).
All in all, we had the best vacation we could have hoped for!
