For Bear Mountain RV Resort: Great place. All gravel but not on top of each other and very clean. $34 for full hookups. They have a row they save for overnighters. Self check in. Everywhere else we tried was at least $54.

LeaC

For Bear Mountain RV Resort: The owner has really set this place up nicely. It’s clean, level and even has a nice park to relax. We were really impressed with this place. We are just here overnight and they have a row that is dedicated to overnight stays. There are quite a few campers here that look long-term, but we didn’t see anything that was terribly messy or filled with junk, so the other reviewer‘s experience really didn’t apply to what we saw today. There’s also a cute dog park, and it was a good size. The normal site rate for an overnight is $34 and they have weekly rates and monthly rates as well. We did not use any of the shower or laundry areas as we are just here for an overnight

Holland

For Bear Mountain RV Resort: Wow, what a clean, easy park for our 35 ft 5th-wheel on 11/10/19. Good showers, clean bathrooms, level sites were immaculate. Excellent value for $29. Definitely will stay again as we travel up and down California a lot. Friendly office, great orientation to the park, quiet, and a nice sense of the farm land around the park. We love the rural San Joaquin Valley. Staying here was a pleasure.

Allan

For Bear Mountain RV Resort: No frills, good-sized sites with lots of concrete and well-raked gravel, but perfectly fine for an overnighter with HUs between So. Cal and road trip destinations further north, either on the way up or back. About 5 to 8 spaces retained for passers-through. Good price, still less than $30. You will know there are 'happy cows' nearby in feedlots if you have your windows open overnight. But its a sweet smell, they say. Toilet (only one) locked overnight, which is not great.

Matt

For Bear Mountain RV Resort: We needed a place to stay between LA and Sequoia and this fit the bill for an easy on the way pull in. The sites are level and clean. There is a nice dog relief area with provided bags. It was quiet. We didn’t leave anything outside overnight but it seemed safe, comfortable. Smelled a tiny bit like cow manure, likely the cows in the area. It wouldn’t stop us from staying again. It was $29 for the night, with an envelope system on the weekends/evenings, you can put a credit card number or leave a check or cash. It’s close to the highway and fuel. Full hookups so that’s nice.

Wendy

For Bear Mountain RV Resort: Don't ever stay there! Had booked for a week. Looked like an ok place when we first got there. Encountered a dumpster diver coming in the park daily. Some sketchy looking rv's with junk piled around them and lots of traffic coming and going at night to them. No security. Had bikes stolen off our bike rack on our car. Chain cut right off. Then a few days later after we left, we had a roof leak in the motorhome. Upon repair the guy found the satalite dish had the grout cut around the bolts and sliced around the base . Looked like it was done with a knife he said. So this would have had to be done in broad daylight when we were gone site seeing or for groceries with the car. We were always there at night and Im sure we would have heard someone on our roof. Reported to the police and they said there is lots of vandalism in the 2 parks in that area of Bakersfield. So my advice is to steer clear of those places

For Bear Mountain RV Resort: Stayed for 3 days/nights. it's a no-frills place, but good for stopping for an overnight or two or three. It was SO hot that we just closed the blinds and ran the AC while we got caught up on inside maintenance, cleaning, etc. 2 dog parks were adequate, however one was closed due to reseeding. Easy access and convenientg to the highway. Lots of availability & definately big rig friendly. It's an easy overnight reservation process. Office is only open from 3-6 each day.
