For Lake Hemet Campground: Just ok. Arrived last minute in our camper van and found a spot that was lakefront, the price was nearly $60. For a spot that was just OK. You can’t swim in the water but you can fish. The staff was very nice and accommodating. But I figure there are better places that aren’t as expensive.

For Lake Hemet Campground: Homesteading gone bad! Lots and lots of full time residents have taken over the majority of the sites and it shows! Unkept yards with lots of sheds and yard trash everywhere. Trees in roadways are not being cut back to ensure clearance for RV’s to pass under. This was a one and done visit

For Lake Hemet Campground: June 4, 2018 Their premium priced “meadow view”($53) was a very small back in space with low pine branches. My sewer hookup was up hill, and the water spout was at the front of the site on the opposite side and needed two hoses! I then looked around, and NONE of the spaces I saw looked level. When I complained to the staff, I was told “it’s an old campground”, and I could switch to a “regular” spot....however no refund of the price difference would be given. No free access to the lake for campers. Camp store is way overpriced(a small 3lb bag of ice was $5). No WiFi, No cell service(T-Mobile). BTW.... take the long route! Drive up the mountain from the town of Hemet. DO NOT attempt the Palm Desert side...especially large 5th wheels or class A’s. The Hemet approach has a more gradual grade and wider roads.

For Lake Hemet Campground: Very nice, quite and clean. The lake was stocked 3 days before we got here and the views are incredible. We love this place and enjoy the low cost for a lakeside spot (only $35 for full hook ups.) We work from our cell phone and iPad and both recieved excellent service (Verizon) but we did not get any TV reception (which is no big deal to us) and the sounds of frogs and crickets in the dark, starry night, were a welcome sound, from the fimalar noises of city life.

For Lake Hemet Campground: Trip date - 1/17-21/2014

We had another great trip last weekend. The water in the lake was way down and it was a bit cold at night but lots of fun.

It looks like they had made a few improvements to the camp sites since our last trip. Many of the washed out areas have been fixed. There were quite a few people there being a holiday weekend but it was still not overly crowded. It seemed to be mostly larger groups.

My only disappointment this trip would have to be the frequency that they clean the restrooms. Which was not very often.

All in all it was a great time. The fishing was descent, meat some nice people, could not ask for more. We will be going back, soon.

For Lake Hemet Campground: Fishing from you camp site!

Trip Date ? Thanksgiving week 2012

This was our family's first camping trip together; the kids were finally old enough. The place was deserted as far as tent camping goes, the RV areas were full. My first impression of the place was that I would hate to be there in the summer or a crowded weekend. All the sites are right on top of each other. What would be a normal campsite anywhere else is two here. That being said it was a great trip. We were able to fish about 20 feet from the campsite. I have not seen another lake like it in California. It was beautiful at night with a nice campfire and facing the lake. We are going back in a few weeks. I can't wait!

Pros ?

Lake front sites.

Clean restrooms

Laundry and snack shop at entrance.

Cons ?

No privacy
