For San Simeon Creek - Hearst San Simeon State Park: Stayed here for 3 nights in our travel trailer at the end of January, 2020. No hook-ups, which was OK. No Verizon cell phone service at our site. Hardly anyone there during our stay. Location is very convenient to the Hearst Castle & Cambria, which we really enjoyed. Would stay again.

For San Simeon Creek - Hearst San Simeon State Park: Very nice typical state park just across the highway from the beach. Bathrooms are adequate but no locks, showers also adequate with warm water but also no locks, and bring your own light, too. Sites were very wide with lots of privacy and quiet. Asphalt not too level but doable. No hook ups. Good for overnight or getaway from city hustle and bustle.

For San Simeon Creek - Hearst San Simeon State Park: Clean, tidy. Bathrooms were very nice and showers hot. Far enough off the highway to be quiet.
There was a mess with our reservation and somebody took our reserved site.

For San Simeon Creek - Hearst San Simeon State Park: Nice State campground. Grass, bathrooms in our area were all working. Asphalt pads that require a little leveling. Close to Cambria and Hearst/San Simeon. Nice amphitheater that appears to have been recently renovated. Close to highway but didn’t notice any noise. Generator hours are 10a-6p.

For San Simeon Creek - Hearst San Simeon State Park: Looked forward to staying at a California state Park as have stayed in other states. I come from a state that has had years and years of draught conditions. I mention this so that my comments are not viewed as biased. The state employees are very nice as they confirm your reservation and direct you to your site. However this is were the disappointment begins. The fire pit was full of trash and had trash stacked next to it. The permanet toilet structure had one door open and was overflowing with waste. Next went to the "out houses" and they also were all overflowing. The sign inside said it had been 4 days since last serviced. Felt sorry that the family next to us from Germany that they had to experience such a sad park.
We finally found the one water faucet that had drinking water no one told us where it was. Didn't see the camp host until we were leaving and he was outside washing his trailer. Mind you he has full hook-ups.
Also sites haven't kept up with trailer size, at 31 feet we barely fit. Based on this site, skip the state parks and stay at a regular RV park

For San Simeon Creek - Hearst San Simeon State Park: Stayed here overnight during spring break. It is a nice campground with lots of trees and just far enough off coast to not get blown away by the wind. It is right up against PCH so there is some road noise, but it sounds similar to the crashing waves so isn't that noticeable. It also runs along a creek so you will get the creek sounds too. Nice for sleeping if you like the nature sounds. The sights are average sized, not right on top of each other like some of the campgrounds we saw on PCH. Lots of kids riding bikes and playing so was a good family campground. You can walk under a bridge to get to the beach so no crossing over PCH to get there its pretty much right on the beach. The only issue was the bathrooms are closed due to the drought so they have porta potties outside the bathroom areas instead. I saw a crew come by and sweep them out during the day but still.... You can get water for cooking and drinking though. Cost for site $25. Ck out the Hearst beach up the road if you go, not for camping but for a day at the beach. It is very nice. Nicer than the one a the campground and not as windy.
