Robert Lipp

For Black Rock - Joshua Tree National Park: Very deteriorated park with little signage to help out. Joshua tree ambience is nice but far away from most of the park. Few trails or things to do nearby.

Tumbleweeds

For Black Rock - Joshua Tree National Park: Stayed here for four days mid January 2020. Very nice "rustic" campground. Like most of the NPS campgrounds we have stayed at, there are no onsite hookups. There is a dump station ($5.00) fee), Fresh water is available at several areas in the park. Clean bathrooms. No showers. Many trails to explore. The landscape is quite enchanting, especially as the late afternoon sun highlights the Joshua trees, hills, and valleys. I take off one star due to the ridiculous NO DOGS ALLOWED trail policy. For the most part only in National Parks have we found this to be the rule. Verizon cell service is fair. ATT a little better.

For Black Rock - Joshua Tree National Park: Roads are very narrow and are in very poor shape. Sites are not clearly defined. Extra fee for dump.

Vilma

For Black Rock - Joshua Tree National Park: Stayed for 3 nights. No hookups but water, toilets & dump station. US Park Svc Senior pass so only $10 a night. Sites were all good - we had a pull through. Park Svc Nature Center is in center of campground and several hiking paths. Unfortunately we were there in February - elevation is 4000 so cold & windy. Check weather out! We still thoroughly enjoyed our 3 day stay since we went to various sites with Joshua Tree Park.

Harveydriver

For Black Rock - Joshua Tree National Park: Very nice NPS campground, helpful staff. Location is in the middle of a Joshua Tree forest, with several microclimates and plant ranges to search out and enjoy. Good hiking here, including a 1.5 mile guided nature walk with great views of the Yucca Valley. Inexpensive, and worth the stop. Excellent place for families. We camped here in a motorhome.
