For Mojave Narrows Regional Park: Very little has changed since the previous review from2019. In fact my guess is it’s only gotten worse. The camping section of the park is a disgrace. The sites are very uneven, and the asphalt pads are breaking up in places. It’s obvious the people who work here are just putting in time. Regarding the access issue, that still remains. The park is closed to the public from Tuesday thru Friday, except for camping. When you make yr reservation you receive a code for the gate. Our reservation didn’t include it, but the lady we spoke to on the phone was very courteous and helpful. Within seconds we received the code. When we got to the site we’d chosen, it was so uneven and frankly filthy that we called her back and she instantly changed the site to the new one we chose. People who use this place on the weekends just don’t clean up after themselves. Even though there are lots of garbage bins. They obviously pick up after their dogs, because we had about a dozen poop bags in our fire pit, oh and 2 under the picnic table. The make matters worse one of the main UP lines out of LA is on the west side of the park and it runs non stop This could be a beautiful park( forgetting the UP) the lake is full of wild life we counted 10 different bird species without even trying. The lake is stocked, but fishing hours are restricted. Last of all there is a $1 pet fee onto of the $40 camp fee. We’ve stayed in beautiful State Parks for $25 a night EW, but this is Highway robbery for what’s offered. The city’s managers need to take a trip out here and see the employees just putting in time.

For Mojave Narrows Regional Park: You can tell that this campground and park was a very nice place at one time. But has fallen on bad times. Very trashy with some spaces not functioning. Also disintrested staff. And no fishing from 4:30 PM to 7:30 AM and a permit required to boot. Stayed one night, will not return unless just stopping got the night. But at $40 for a trashy campsite, it is not a good deal. Gate was locked at 5:30, luckily another couple arriving at the same time with reservations called the number posted at the kiosk and got the combo to the lock.
