For KOA Journey La Junta: A very friendly campground, the people in charge couldn’t be more helpful even giving each of us a cold bottle of water on a very hot day. Had a refreshing dip in the pool. Would be very happy to come back and stay a few more nights

For KOA Journey La Junta: It was adequate for an overnight stay. It cost $52. The roads and sites were dirt and gravel. You could see hardened ruts on arrival. It rained during the night and it was very muddy and pools of water everywhere. It badly needs regrading and more stone.

For KOA Journey La Junta: It’s La Junta, so don’t expect mountains and views, but it’s a perfectly fine stop for a night. The pool was under construction, but our site was level and quiet.

For KOA Journey La Junta: A decent overnight stop. Next to Walmart and other restaurants. Older KOA with spotty WiFi, adequate level sites, no cable TV, office friendly. Would stop again if passing through

For KOA Journey La Junta: Very disappointed. Normally I wouldn’t stay at any KOA because of their outrages prices, especially since most of their campgrounds aren’t very good. The fact that it’s the only Campground for quite a few miles, and I guess they know this, so they charge whatever they want. $52 per nite, especially considering how crowded and dingy this place. By crowded I mean close together, pull-thru’s that will barely hold a 40’ motorhome, let alone a towed vehicle. Very sharp narrow corners, etc.

Translation: Rather expensive for what it offers. We had a tent field. The land was full of paper and garbage (cans). Parking for tent sites is not exclusive, there was a vehicle parked on our site and the owner did nothing.

For KOA Journey La Junta: I think we are going to avoid most KOA’s for future stops. I am disappointed that they cost so much money. The value isn’t there. This one is in a small town so I didn’t expect much but I am disappointed that I called to get pricing and it was $40... which was already high compared to many beautiful spots we have stayed at with way more amenities for $20-30... but once we get here it’s $40+$5 for a kid+$5 tax. Why do places charge for a small kid? What does it cost you? I would imagine it would provide things for kids to do? Well their “park†is an old slide. The pool is closed but I can’t say I’d swim in it anyway. Super close and tight spots. Right off the highway, super close to train tracks, and close to a shooting range. The guy up front was nice, but the other things really made me grumpy for the amount we paid to stay. Stop if you must, but be warned that the cost does not equal the value here. Stayed early April 2019.
