For Highline Lake State Park: I chose this place to do laundry, shower, and dump tanks after weeks boondocking. At first I felt so alien to all the happy families in big rigs, but hearing children play was a treat. The Book Cliffs campground here is reservation only, even if you’re coming the next day. Reserve through the CPW website, not ReserveAmerica. It’s a small park, with two “lakes†or large ponds. One has motorboats going around counterclockwise, the smaller pond is non motorized and peaceful for watching birds. The campsites are clean, and I watched the campground hosts working fast from checkout to checkin picking up all the trash. It’s grassy with large cottonwoods and firs, which is so different when you’ve come from the west. After checkout time and n a Sunday, it’s delightfully quiet. The laundry room has two washers ($1.25) and two dryers ($1.00), and is clean. It has a change machine to get quarters. Also, this area seems to be mountain biking capital of the world, so bring one.

For Highline Lake State Park: Very nice clean and grassy state park. We got in due to a cancellation. We had a very large site. Quiet. Staff and host were friendly and helpful.
We recommend it and would stay here again. We pull a 27' Airstream.
