COL Christmas
For Colorado Heights Camping Resort: In route home high winds forced us to find a place to park for the night. We had a Class C motorhome pulling a car. The campground is extremely tight in fact on departing, we had to go the wrong way on a one-way road to get out. The park advertises open year-round but be aware it is really seasonal. No one at the office to register or assist. No water and pretty much no services or amenities at all and yet they still charges $55 a night for power hook up only. The park is right next to interstate on a frontage road so you do get some highway noise. The self registration process is wanting of improvement just like most of the sites. There was no clear direction on how to register, no advertised cost per night, no discounts listed for memberships, and when you pay you put it in a used envelope (old mail envelopes received by the park) in a wooden box that looked like it could fall apart at any time. When I asked a presumed staff member the nest day why so expensive for so little service I was told because the park down the road was $100 with a two night minimum and they had a waterpark (which doesn’t open up for another two months). Frankly a person would be better off boon-docking at a Walmart but this is Colorado and they don’t allow that. Unless it is a stop based on safety I would continuing down the road a ways.

Big Rig
For Colorado Heights Camping Resort: NOT BIG RIG FRIENDLY- the turns are tight and the tree limbs overhang, there’s even a low power line going up to the “afterthought†dirt 50 amp sites. Once you get up to those sites, trucks are parked all along in front of their RVs so maneuvering becomes even more of a challenge. There is no dog run although The park says dog friendly. The restrooms and showers said closed for the season so that was an annoyance and to top it off, the office which is only open for 1 hr per day charged us accidentally $2450 for 5 nights. I noticed it and there was a refund issued but was told it would take 1 week!

Sue Heist
For Colorado Heights Camping Resort: I give them a zero if I could. We have a beautiful keep Airstream Class A Landyacht motorhome and asked to stay 4 nights. They have a rule that no rig can be more than 10 years old. How can you apply that rule to a Prevost, Blue Bird, Newman, or Airstream? Many Airstreams are over 10 years old. Their rule is ridiculous! We’ve camped at parks with similar rules and once they hear our rig is an Airstream they will wave the rule. NOT HERE.

Kabu
For Colorado Heights Camping Resort: Hard to maneuver into our dirt site next to a busy highway. Overpriced for what we had. Long hike to restrooms other sites were better in this park our was not. Would not return

Jonathan
For Colorado Heights Camping Resort: Nice and clean with lots of activities. We stayed in a 31†Class C motor home and were able to get around the park fine although the drives are a bit tight in spots.
Friendly staff. We stayed four nights and would stay again.
Note - although they participate in Passport America the Lu only accept for discounts in the winter season.

Rich and Jann Sanico
For Colorado Heights Camping Resort: Nice campground with easy access off of the freeway. Convienant to quaint town of Monument and 20 minutes from Colorado Springs. Driving through the campground is very tight and some of the spots are too, but ours was ok. Pond, mini golf, pool and other ammenities are available although we used none. We stayed for 3 days in a 38' 5th wheel.

David
For Colorado Heights Camping Resort: We stayed for 10 days in September in a 37’ motorhome. Full hookups worked fine. Did not use any facilities. Reasonable price. Parking spot was on the highest point up the hill. Just gravel. Not much grass for our dog. Roads in the park can be narrow with overhanging trees. If you have a tall or long coach, be careful. Personnel were friendly. We’d stay again. We were told the park is a “Members Only†park for the peak Summer months and the park is full during those months. Lot’s of vacancies in other months.
