For Dakota Terraces - Ridgway State Park: We loved the Dakota Terraces section of Ridgway State Park. It was much roomier than the space we had at Elk Ridge previously and were able to drive through this time so we could see which site might work best for us. But - with the "all by reservation" system, we then had to call the 800# and make the reservations for the site we liked which luckily was available for the next 4 nights! Staff was friendly, facilities were clean and in good repair, access was easy to and from and the scenery was beautiful! Verizon cell coverage was also very good!

For Dakota Terraces - Ridgway State Park: I have stayed here many times and like the campground, but I probably won’t stay again. They have gone to a all reservation system, like many state and national parks. No ‘first come, first served’ sites and for a nomad that a pain. Looking recently there were no openings for the upcoming Saturday, but sites available for every other night. I usually like to stay at a campground for a week or even 2. With the way people make reservations, even if the don’t show, means the weekends are almost always full. Full time rv’ing is just getting harder and harder. These state and national parks should have a few ‘first come’ sites available. Just ranting

For Dakota Terraces - Ridgway State Park: Great state park. We camped in the Dakota Terrace, loop B, site 45. We had electric and water at the site (there is shared water around the campground) and we were able to reach it with our hose from where we were set up. Most sites are pull through. We have a 40' fifth wheel. We happened to have the largest shade tree in the campground, but many sites do not have much shade. The swim beach was awesome in July. Playground for the kids. We had 2 bars LTE for Verizon.

For Dakota Terraces - Ridgway State Park: Excellent campground. Kind host, beautiful views, great temperature. We camped in early June in a motorhome.
