For Collier-Seminole State Park: Nice campground. It's tight, but well-kempt. The park ranger at the desk was pleasant.
The issue that I had were the mosquitoes. No kidding, it was BAD. No amount of bug spray was going to keep them off me. Not the parks fault obviously, but something to be aware of.
They have 3 trails. A 6.5 mile path through the swamp (didn't take).
A 3.5 mile path on the old Marco Road. I took that one with my dogs. We started out, but the mosquitoes were so bad for the dogs that I had to cut the walk way short and get back on the road. They swarmed my black dog so badly that they were in her eyes and mouth. DEET is toxic to dogs, so you can't protect them from the mosquitoes with human bug spray. If I would have known that the bugs were that bad I would have stopped on my way for the pet bug spray. Not much of a Boy Scout for this trip.
If you're taking your dogs, please pay attention to this, it may save you some hassle.
The "45 Minute" nature walk that has a trailhead at the marina/concession; If you take your dog down that path it's going to get absolutely covered in burrs and stickers. They aren't even ones that you can see until it's on the fur. They are on the trail itself, so this isn't a case of the dogs crashing through the underbrush. It looks like a great little walk, but your four legged friend is probably going to get more than you bargained for.
I also found this out, cooking oil will loosen up burrs in dog fur. I spent a good 45 minutes after I got back home detangling my dog.
So, to sum up, nice place, but Great Cypress Swamp Mosquitoes aren't to be trifled with, Be Prepared.

For Collier-Seminole State Park: We are on one of the outside sites. Our site is at right angles to the road so it might be a little hard for a big rig to pull in, but we have a 24 foot fifth wheel and it wasn't a problem. We are pretty close together, but we are visually separated from our neighbors with vegetarian. We were out of milk when we arrived and were able to find some at a gas station just outside the park, but we would recommend you stock up your food and other supplies before you come. It is a long round trip for supplies. They do have a small store in the park. It was a very friendly location to pick up a cup of coffee, pop or an ice cream bar and maybe some bug spray. The trees around our site were not very tall so we did pick up satellite for our dish when we put the dish on the top of our rig. Cell phone service and data for AT&T and T mobile was spotty at the best. Showers and rest rooms were very nice.
Haven't done it yet but it does look like you can go on a guided canoe trip from the launch site for $25 or a moon lite tour for $35. If you have your own canoe or kayak it looks like a nice place to go. I'm used to beavers but not water snakes and alligators but i think people in Florida are used to those.
Be sure you dump your garbage before sunset, they lock the garbage area up to keep the animals out. This would be especially important if you have a soft sided tent or pop up.

For Collier-Seminole State Park: If you like the feeling of being a sardine you should stay in the middle. What a joy being tabletop look out your window and see into your neighbors RV. Find a site on the outside and you will be happy. Lots of out of town RVs also. Not really good for biking. I walked the whole area in an hour. There were some bike trails down the road but the road was dangerous.
