For Raptor Ranch at Tyndall AFB: Stayed 2 nights at Raptor Ranch. Rather impressive Famcamp with a bunch of sites. Most are back-in, and range from private, bayside spots (I believe they are about $10 more/night) to spots that are private and separated by trees/shrubs, to others that are close to neighbors with little to no privacy. We stayed in site 47, which was a private back-in; 2 spots away from the community center. Our only gripe would be that the level pad was pretty short; we have a 31' TT and rear jacks were in the gravel. Looking around, concrete pad extensions have been added in some spots. Each site has a covered picnic table, but camp grills were hit and miss (seemed to be randomly placed in some spots). Community center houses the bathrooms, laundry and large hall that is mainly used for events during winter. There is a community gazebo with fire pit, a trail, and beautiful views. Check-in was easy; main office is open until 4 during the summer. Camp host is clearly marked. Facilities were in good condition. Sites have cable, although there is no wifi whatsoever. One dumpster on this large Famcamp, close to the gazebo towards the front of the camp. Main base is a couple miles away; housing gate is closest and provides access to main base. Lots of work being done to commissary; very new looking gas/shoppette/Subway on main base as well. There is also gas/shoppette in housing. Main base has wonderful private beach access via 1/4 mile Boardwalk. Famcamp is near outdoor recreation. Enjoyed our stay; NSA Famcamp gets the Pamama City Beach location nod, but Raptor Ranch is bigger, has more robust facilities and a better value if you don't mind being on the slower pace side of town.

For Raptor Ranch at Tyndall AFB: This was a very pleasant one-night stay. We had a pull through site with full hookups but no wifi (which is why I gave it a 4 vs a 5 rating). Cable TV hookup provided 70 channels to view. There is a nature trail that follows along Bonita Bay. Lots of trees and shrubbery surrounded our site on both sites, making it feel very private and au naturel. There is a very nice rec hall with card tables, a pool table, a laundry room, and a dance area.

Utterosa

For Raptor Ranch at Tyndall AFB: Stayed here in Oct 2016, in 35' motorhome with tow car. Space #8 was near the bayou and in a beautiful wooded area. Lots of room and barely knew neighboring RVs were there. Full hookups including cable TV. Concrete pad and covered picnic table. Loud jets from the base flying over during the day but quiet at night. $25 a night. FamCamp is located outside the base. Beautiful rec hall. Laundry room clean with 5 washers & 5 dryers, 75 cents. Office personnel very nice, providing maps of the base and nearby towns as well as making recommendations for dinner spots. We would stay here again.

For Raptor Ranch at Tyndall AFB: Only reason for 4 stars is no sewer hookup. Other than that, we loved this place. Very woodsy feel to it with scrub oaks all around for privacy although we had no problems opening our slides and awning. Paved roads throughout that we biked through the camp on and took some off road nature trails as well. There were some waterfront sites. Nice laundry room. We didn't use the shower/rest rooms-can't comment. Very nice, friendly staff. Close to the base but not on it. We drove to the private Tyndall AFB beach one afternoon to stay until evening to watch the sunset. This beach is SO BEAUTIFUL! Plus, there were only a handful of people there! If you stay at this camp, DO NOT MISS this beach!

Ken

For Raptor Ranch at Tyndall AFB: My wife and I came over for a weekend stay and found the campground way above average. We have a 36' Class A and stayed in easily accesible nicely shaded spot #7. We found the campground to be clean, the staff very friendly, and enjoyed a nice relaxing weekend even with what looked to be a full campground with at least a half dozen in overflow. Our spot had a concrete pad and included 50 amp service, water and sewer hookups plus cable TV. We'll be back! To the guy who complained in the review before mine..."Read the rules" which are clearly published and a copy was handed to us at check in!

Noname

For Raptor Ranch at Tyndall AFB: The new manager has ruined this great park. New rules and over the top restrictions has turned this place into a nazi camp! NOT a family oriented place. Kids need to be kept within arms reach. They will leave the office on a golf cart and yell at your kids if they are across the street from your RV on the play ground, even if you are outside watching them from your RV. The rules say you can have a twenty foot or less sized boat on your lot. You better get a tape measure out and measure your boat and trailer length because they will come to your site when you leave to run errands or what ever and do that exact same thing. Even if your boat is an 18 ft bay boat, if the tongue of your trailer to your prop exceeds 20 ft they will leave a note taped to your door telling you to remove the boat or the base police will be contacted. NO internet will be available even though it has been advertised since the price increase several years back. Some of the sites have not changed since 2010 when the price was 390 dollars a month. As we role into 2016 we were paying 540 dollars a month with nothing to show for it. Don't even think about being your pets to the fire pit anymore. You will get a note on your door about pets in a government building being not authorized. This fire pit is not even really a building. It is a screened in gazebo with more made up rules then I have ever seen. I have seen military veterans that served through out all of Americas greatest wars from WWII on into some active duty people serving today staying in the Fam Camp that will never come back again to what was once our favorite place to stay. We have seen people who have been staying the winters in this park since the 70s vow to never come back again and I don't think we will ever be back.
