For Fort De Soto Park: Really beautiful place. The campground is great all the sites are big with lots of plants and green between sites. I was there when a storm went through and saw the plus and minus of the sites on water. Mine had a mangrove buffer I was very happy for as the wind was intense. Biking was great , I will return.

For Fort De Soto Park: Best kept secret in FL, some water sites are without views due to mangroves, can be dry n dusty, inside sites are HUGE. We especially enjoyed the pet-free loop, wild raccoons roam freely. Bathhouses kept clean, laundry available.

Ashley

For Fort De Soto Park: Favorite campground of our vacation! It is stunningly beautiful! Very shady, Palm tress, other trees and hard un paved roads. The sites are long, water and electric only. Lots of tress dividing every site. I really don't think there is a bad site here from just looking around.
We stayed two nights. We absolutely wish we had started vacation on this side of Florida and we would have stayed here longer.
We will be returning next year and for longer.
The beautiful beach is a short easy drive in the car. Lots of sand dollars and snails and crabs and starfish to view in the clear waters.
It's just beautiful!!
As others have said; prepare to get ire by bugs or live with bug spray on your skin.
Also, the old military Fort is awesome to tour. Great photography opportunities atop the fort too. Stunning views.

Sachmo

For Fort De Soto Park: Almost all sites are shaded and many are on the water. Lots of trees and foliage. One of the nicest waterfront campgrounds in Florida. All sites and roads are unpaved but well maintained.

DaVida

For Fort De Soto Park: Absolutely our favorite park. Quite popular so reservations for sites along the shore are precious. Some sites are narrow, but long. Ample foliage for privacy. Bathhouses are clean, laundry available. Paved, winding bike trails are several miles long to both fishing piers and beaches. Yes, raccoons are entertaining as they seek to steal whatever you leave out. No-see-ums can be vicious if no wind. But, still, great park if one gets in.

Jito

For Fort De Soto Park: Visited in August with a 38' motor coach water front beautiful sunset , dirt roads & very tight to back in low hanging trees, had issues opening slide out & awning due to trees other sites were much roomier, no sewage hook up so had to go out to dump before parking , after all settled a raccoon walked right up on top of our table while standing there & stole a bag of chips & took off up the tree (kids were frightened ) bring lots of OFF not sure if there mosquitos or what !! But there VICIOUS !! Other then that beach was awesome 5 stars very clean must drive or bike there. Bathrooms need updating, store was well stocked .

For Fort De Soto Park: Four and a half stars. Last minute opening so I grabbed it. Traveling in a 21' Chinook and was assigned a 175' pull-thru. Ha. Very nice park. Verizon 3 dot LTE. About 12 television channels if not more. Good privacy between sites. Pets not allowed in most of the sites but 80 sites do allow. Big rigs may not like the low hangers. Good bicycle park.
