Kenda

For Altamaha Regional Park: Quiet fishing camp right off the river. We stayed 2 weeks in October and had a site that did not back up to the river. Sites are hard packed sand/dirt/gravel and good solid utilities. There is no cell service but the park wifi worked really well. The weekends are their busy time with people coming in to fish and tent camp. They have a small store to get snacks, supplies, necessities, and food service on the weekends. If you have railroad track clearance concerns, consider turning onto May Rd and Old Jesup Rd to get to Altamaha Rd. May Rd tracks are much lower.

For Altamaha Regional Park: Not for everyone, but we loved it.Stayed for a week in March 2019. Small, what I would call a Fish Camp right on river. Lots of locals on weekend but not noisy. Great price for $22 a night, FH and cable.Boat launch, beach, campstore that served meals. Sites are a little funky but ours was nice. Easy drive to Jekyll Island. We were there for the Peaches to Beaches Flea Market -- 200 miles of garage sales along Hyw 341. Plan to stop again

Swampy

For Altamaha Regional Park: 1st time here arrived Wed. Very quiet beautiful site on the water. Friday the campers came. Lots of families with kids, dogs and boats. The quiet is gone replaced with AC, dogs and family laughter.

MH

For Altamaha Regional Park: We recently stayed two nights over a weekend and, although staff and other campers were friendly this campground on a beautiful river is packed too full with vehicles and rigs, and not well maintained. The row of very tiny sites my Class B was placed in was simply a parking spot on dirt, facing a fence. I did not at all feel unsafe. Bathhouse is nice, and was reasonably clean for the number of campers, but the dumpster area was deplorable, with trash, garbage and something reeking of human feces on the ground between the two, and which remained there the two days I was present. This is obviously a beloved local spot, full to the brim, but it is not enticing for anyone passing thru. I will not come back. On February 17, I sent an email to Customer Service for the county, advising them of my experience. I have heard nothing back, and have to presume they simply don’t care, which is what is reflected in this campground.

Audrey Carter

For Altamaha Regional Park: We stay frequently. Love the people. Never felt unsafe. Only thing is that the bathrooms need to be cleaned more often. Other wise will never stop going.

PandaMom

For Altamaha Regional Park: Do not recommend this campground. We were disappointed and uncomfortable staying, so we left. Staff member was friendly but did not feel secure here.

For Altamaha Regional Park: About 15 miles from Brunswick and any amenities. Large mostly level sites. Wifi bad. Good rates. Dirty sites with no maintenance done around the campground. Laundry room was bad with old/broken appliances. No enforcement of rules especially on weekends. Dogs running loose everywhere. No quiet hour enforcement. Lots of partying with several people crammed into each camp site. Outsiders come and go all hours of the day and night using the facilities, laundry room, bathhouse and dumpsters. No active policing or clean-up or maintenance done by the staff. The staff is very nice and accommodating. Bathhouse is very nice if it was cleaned more frequently. Didn't feel 100% safe here. Won't stay again.
