For FD Roosevelt State Park: This was a nice state park with fantastic hiking nearby. Our site was along the back edge, which we liked. It ended up being kind of a “buddy†site (we were 309, buddies with 308) in that our tables and fire rings were in a shared space. It worked fine, but we didn’t know that. The showers and bathhouse were cleaned regularly and there was cheap laundry.

Mtns Are Calling
For FD Roosevelt State Park: This park was under construction area 5 and 6. We had reservations for site 209 premium site with 59 amp. The rods leading to the site were extremely tight with significant drop offs on each side of the road. We were unable to access our site due to the narrow roads and a 2 1/2 foot drop off. They did not have another site so we were put in the pioneer section, 30 amp, 20lbs water pressure gravel/dirt road. We were camping in a 35 ft 5th wheel and a F450 truck. When this campground is completed it should be much easier to access sites with better power and water. Easy access to Callaway Gardens, nice trails, and a small lake.

For FD Roosevelt State Park: We stayed two nights to see Calloway Gardens Christmas Lights. The park staff were very nice and helpful. Our site in area 5 wasn’t level but not uncomfortable. However the circular road for our area was very narrow and would have been a nightmare had we arrived after dark in our 37 foot MH. Overall a very nice, quiet state park.

For FD Roosevelt State Park: Park is on a ridge, many trails to hike, fishing lake in campground. Gravel sites, mostly level, some quite tight, short, check your length. Bathhouses, laundries spaced well in loops. Playground. Plenty of shade.

For FD Roosevelt State Park: Charming park with historical significance.
Part of the string of parks across the top of Georgia (and into Alabama) created by Franklin Roosevelt's Civilian Conservation Corps, which he established to help the struggling people of the region.
FDR became a witness to that economic struggle on visits to nearby Warm Springs. His Little White House there is a recommended visit.
The park headquarters is an outstanding example of CCC construction.
Excellent hiking along the Pine Mountain Trail. If you visit, consider joining the trail's hiking club. It does great work (and you will get a must-have map).

For FD Roosevelt State Park: We stayed 2 nights in a 35' class A. Well maintained campground in forest overlooking lake. Level gravel sites. There is a nice scenic drive along the ridge through the park with several overlooks, including the place were FDR had his barbecues. We drove to Warm Springs and visited FDR's Little White House and Museum, which was very worthwhile.
