Rolling Nest
For Crooked River State Park: First time to stay at this park. Check in staff friendly and helpful. Previously mentioned renovations on-going. Updated sites are level, spacious, hard-packed gravel with 30/50 amp, H2O, sewer, picnic table and fire ring. Plenty of maneuvering room throughout the camping area so no worry for big rigs. Entire area nicely wooded with pines. Reservations not site specific. Some better than others but not a bad one in the bunch. One of two bath houses in operation. Relatively clean, decent water pressure, plenty of hot water, washer and dryer.
With easy access to I95, good stop over headed north or south. We were here Tuesday-Thursday, late Feb 18 and there were plenty of sites.
Primo base camp to enjoy area sites, kayaking, biking, and hiking.

For Crooked River State Park: This is the second time we have stayed at this park. We travel in a 45 motorhome plus a 23 ft car trailer. We were pleasantly surprised at the number of large pull through sites. The camp is heavily wooded. We enjoy our roof mount Direct satellite TV and found site #9 to be one of the few that we could access a signal through the trees. The camp is extremely well maintained and has a great staff. There are several miles of great nature trails which can be walked or biked. We did both. The camp is close to the water and has a great boatlaunch. The park is in progress of converting from a 30 amp service with no sewer to a 50 amp site with sewer. This would make it a 6 star resort once complete!!

For Crooked River State Park: Like the other reviews say- great campground.
If you camp many times in GA, do the "friends" pass. Worth the money spent!

For Crooked River State Park: This is a very nice campground. There are pull-through as well as back-on sites. All will accommodate up to 50 feet. Most sites are shaded. All have electricity and water. A few have sewer, however most of these are for the hosts.
This is a very quiet area, with wildlife, nice views, and excellent trails. It is a well-hidden gem in GA state lark system.
