For Stone Mountain Park Family Campground: We stayed a week here for my husbands job. We were the reason for the film warning upon entering the campground. I appreciated the signage and email sent out by the campground informing us of filming at nights. Our site, 17, was mostly level and was on gravel. The park staff were all nice and took care of the grounds. The main road in the park is in good shape, some of the offshoot roads are uneven due to tree roots. Yes, parking is an additional fee but if you plan to stay here more than twice, spending $40 for an annual parking pass is a fantastic deal. Do take exit 8 when arriving as to avoid any height clearance issues, the park does warn you about that when they send out your reservation confirmation email. The general store stocks all of the essentials to make your camping trip a success.

For Stone Mountain Park Family Campground: Horrible rip off place in a very dangerous neighborhood.

For Stone Mountain Park Family Campground: We stayed on Loop L. Site was newer, level, good hook-ups, shaded. Grills and fire pits. Cable TV decent, WiFi virtually unusable except for checking email, no surfing or streaming. Setting is beautiful, lake views and walking trails all around. Showers okay, nothing great, laundry available but did not use. Torrential rains off and on while we were there but site drained well. Come to enjoy the park and the beautiful setting. We enjoyed our two night stay and would come again if in the area. And yes, you have to pay the one-time park entry fee on top of the campground fees if you don’t have an annual pass.

For Stone Mountain Park Family Campground: This place is so overrated. Way over priced! We stayed for almost a week and it’s just not worth it. I wish there were other places near atlanta to stay. I do not understand why the parking pass isn’t included in the fee. Roads in campground are horrible. Our site was so unlevel it took us much longer than normal to get settled. Staff and maintenance are very friendly.

For Stone Mountain Park Family Campground: This campground is amazing just for the views. I have to say The designer missed the big picture. The sites should be facing the opposite way. The hookups should be opposite of the view side. That being said we would still come back. Cost was high at $70 a night. The park is a focussed on the money, like an amusement park. There are a lot of free activities and sites that are beautiful if you like to hike, like Stone Mountain itself.

For Stone Mountain Park Family Campground: Traveled through most of the US and this has some of the worst sites. We tried two sites to get level and then decided to leave. The maintenance guy was nice, but he said people break their jacks all the time! The roads are so bad your jacks nearly scrape driving.

Hinton the Trail

For Stone Mountain Park Family Campground: Beautiful location outside of Atlanta. The Stone Mountain Park has lots to do and was a big surprise for us. We came for Atlanta and ended up spending hours in the park and around Stone Mountain. The RV park itself if set in the woods by a lake and offers great views. The customer service is touch and go but sometimes you can overlook that when your campsite overlooks some great scenery. There is a $20 parking fee to get in the park which is dumb considering you’re going to be parking overnight and paying a fee for your site. It’s a one time deal but still needs to be waived with a reservation number. Many of the sites are not level and need some maintenance. The bathrooms and shower stalls are very clean but again, need maintenance and some updating. WiFi here is terrible but it was only for 4 nights so life moves on...but for the price it should be better. Bottom line, the only reason this gets 4 stars is the location. Quiet woods near a lake.
