The Novel RV
For Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino: I had read reviews where this casino made RVs park in the truck/RV area. I travel in a van and didn’t want to be around all those 18 wheelers. I drove around the huge parking lot until I located a place on the far edge near two other RVs. Security never bothered me. It was a very quiet night. I think if it was on a weekend they might’ve been much more strict about RVs staying outside of the truck/RV area. Also they don’t allow slides to be put out and I don’t have a slide, so I was much more stealthy.

For Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino: Parking is close but it worked for me. I have no slides. Hey, it’s free and that’s the only reason to stay. Get here earlier than fiveish. Appears to be a favorite for truckers. Three bars Verizon LTE.

For Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino: NOT RV friendly! Spaces extremely narrow. Parked at upper end so bedroom slide would not extend into lot. 3 hrs after being there - 30 minutes before sunset, security comes & says we can't have any slides open. Called dispatch who affirmed, no slides. We explained our layout (bedroom accessible only with slide out) & showed that slide was not extended into parking lot. "That's our policy" was their response. They referred us to an RV park next door which would have charged us $35 to sleep for 8 hrs. Because very few RVs today do not have slides, they need to take the RV off their parking sign since they cannot accommodate most RVs. Luckily, Walmart was nearby & they said they allowed RVs.

For Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino: Pulled in to lot marked "semis, RVs" early afternoon & found a decent space near grass to walk the dogs in. Spaces are only wide enough for semis so we had to take 2 spaces to put bedroom slide out (no other way to access bedroom). After an early dinner we came back to our 5th wheel only to have a truck driver tell us we were not supposed to be in this lot; that there was another lot further along the road, on the other side of the casino. We packed up & drove over but only found a VIP parking lot & the main lot. After telling the security guard what happened, she checked with management & said we had been in the correct lot & had to go back. She said we could not park at the back of the main lot because the casino was "open 24 hrs" (even though it was less than 20% full at 6pm on a Thursday night). We returned to the RV lot & put our slide out only enough to access the bedroom. If there are any issues tonight, I will update this post, but either way, I would not return just because of the inability to find a space wide enough & the negative vibes from the truckers. If they want to welcome RVers, then they need to upgrade the striping in the lot to accommodate today's RVs.
