For Belva - Deer Rec Area: For 5 of the last 6 years I have camped with my son and grandson (and late father). We camp in tents. We like the park and like to hike and swim (great beach). We have never had a problem until this year when we were charged an extra $10 for a second tent. Why is it that it costs a camper/trailer (which uses electricity for a/c, TV, multiple lights and bath and kitchen water needs) $18.00 a night yet 2 tents cost $28.00? Does that make any sense? Also, the guy who runs it isn't very pleasant.

For Belva - Deer Rec Area: This is one beautiful park. All the roads are paved along with the camping sites and a pad for the picnic table.
On the recreation side you will find plenty of parking, shore fishing, handicap fishing, a swimming beach and a boat ramp.
On the camping side you find cabins, showers, a boat ramp, a fish cleaning station, a dump station, dumpsters and mostly level, beautiful sites.
You may need an extra long hose or electrical cord to reach the box and faucet.
We had good luck fishing on the rec. side with spinner baits and caught a bass, a large 12 in red ear and several keeper blue gill.
The sites are first come, first served. However, people locally come out early and reserve their site without putting a trailer there. We thought this was a disadvantage to those not able to do this. We feel, to make it fair for everyone, they should have a trailer on site before registering.
We will be going back in Sept.

For Belva - Deer Rec Area: This is a great campsite. It's clean, quiet and safe playground for kids...small lake, good fishing and almost always good people. I will say campsites closest to the lake are on a hill. Not as level as I'd like it to be. Very nice campground. One of our local favorites. Bathrooms are clean. Roads are not level for riding bikes there are hills that are pretty steep. Campround roads are blacktop.
