For Fort Running Bear: Great RV park. Friendly employees and manager. Well off the “beaten path”, beautiful scenery surrounding this RV park within easy driving distance to water sports. The park itself has a nice pool ( did need some cleaning though), fairly level dirt pads, cement patios with picnic tables and lattice roofed covers, lots of trees and grassy areas. Full hookups. They do offer a membership to this park, but nightly rates are available too. We plan on staying at this park again.

For Fort Running Bear: This campground is pretty fantastic. It is a near-oasis in semi-desert environment. There are several lakes in the area, but when we came in late September, the Camus Reservoir was all but dried up. There are trees surrounding, and throughout the park. All the trees were planted by the owners themselves decades ago. There are full hook-ups available, including 20/30/50 amp service. The sites are all dirt but very level with grass islands in-between each site, and a concrete patio pad with picnic table as well. The sites are also very long, 60'-70' each. More than enough room for your trailer and tow vehicle or motor home and towed vehicle. There is no park provided wifi, however, with nearby cell towers, there was strong AT&T and Verizon cell signal. The road up to the campground is rough. There is a sign off of highway 20 that indicates the Running Bear campground is to the north (pointing left as we came in from the west). It is about 3 miles of rough gravel/dirt road. In our truck and 35' fifth wheel, we stayed at about 5 MPH. Getting back and forth on the road without the trailer wasn't too difficult (for site seeing and such). Put the GPS coordinates into your mapping app to find the location. If you just put "Ft. Running Bear" it lists a location about 20 miles away (GPS: 43.357731,-115.381082). The website says "reservations required". Although the park was near empty when we arrived, I think the owners just like to know when people are coming. You can probably call the day of arrival, I would think. The campground owners are very friendly and fun people. There is a membership available, but we just paid the overnight rate for three nights (about $39 per night, less 10% for Good Sam or AAA member). Other than mentioning it, there was no pressure or sales pitch at all. We would stay here again.

For Fort Running Bear: 35 miles north of app location (Editor note: as of July 14, corrected in next update). Very nice manager.
