For Ellis Lakeside City Campground: Wonderful small town campground with large shady spots on the river. Nice and clean bathrooms. Short walk to the quaint downtown and a large playground. Sites are first come first serve and typically full up by 3 pm, so get there early. We enjoyed it so much that we stayed an extra night. Stop by Gella’s in Hays for a delicious meal and great beers!

For Ellis Lakeside City Campground: Very convenient, peaceful park right off the interstate. Hot showers, clean basic facilities. Best of all, tall shade trees covering most of the sites. Short walk to town (which needs your business), bored cops drive through hourly and wave. Childhood home of Walter Chrysler. We’ll return.

For Ellis Lakeside City Campground: What a great surprise! Someone took a trainyard by the river and turned it into a small rv park and railroad museum. HUGE sites with giant shady trees, big showers and a great playground a few blocks away at the railraod museum/ballpark. I love sites with no reservation system but get their early as there are only 15 sites and there were Rvs circling the site all night looking for a spot. Poor downtown Eliis was completely empty on a Saturday night so if you stay here please visit one of the restaurants and help them out. Someone said in the early reviews about train and freeway noise? but its no where near the freeway and te train doesnt run anymore except the kid-sized one.

For Ellis Lakeside City Campground: Nice little campground. About 15 spots. Water and electric for $20 a night. Honor system payment. First come first served. Right by the lake. Pull through spots.

Warren G

For Ellis Lakeside City Campground: Great overnight stop just off I-70 on a small lake in Ellis. 17 pull through sites, nice bathroom/shower house, electric and water hookups, dump station. Downtown Ellis is within walking distance, with a couple of restaurants, a railroad museum, and the boyhood home of Walter P. Chrysler. First come basis for a reasonable $20.

Andy

For Ellis Lakeside City Campground: This may be our new favorite stop over between Kansas City and Denver. Only $20 for electric and water and pull through sites. Cute little place by river. Only thing is it’s first come first serve.
