For Lucas Park: Heads up- Since COVID, all payments have to be done online, so even if you’re coming in last minute, you have to check the recreation.gov website first and pay there. Cell signal good, so it wasn’t difficult, but camp host can help. Water is turned on for the season 5/15. Showers are fine. We found the sites to be not level, unusual for ACOE.

For Lucas Park: While we didn’t think we’d find anything as great as our Ft Benning stay, this one is! Different purpose - Ft Benning is for hiking, trail running. This one is for water. The sites in the 10s with water/electricity have water within close walking distance but no hookup. The water/electricity in the 40s have water hookup. the lake is gorgeous and since we are here on a Wednesday, it is super quiet. While there are others here, we are all so far apart it feels like we’ve got the lake to ourselves. #12 is flat, no leveling blocks required. It is fairly packed large gravel. Electricity has been steady/dependable. The bathhouse is a one stall/one shower deal for men and women.

For Lucas Park: This is a Corps of Engineer park and is right down on the lake. Beautiful views and easy access to the lake. It is on the north side of the lake. From the interstate go across the dam and turn left at first road past the information center. I have been here several times and always pleased.
