For Lake Barkley State Resort: We stayed 3 nights here. The campground needs some TLC. Most sights have a big slope so be prepared! The sites share water/30 AMP electric which we found odd. Did not use bathroom so can’t rate. The wilderness hiking trail was beautiful and recommend. The state just needs to put a little money in the campgrounds. The park and lodge are beautiful!

For Lake Barkley State Resort: Paved but extremely unlevel sites. Few carry enough levelling blocks or boards to account for 15 to 30 degree slopes. Will not be returning to camp

For Lake Barkley State Resort: Stayed 3 nights over Memorial Day weekend 2018. It was hard to find anyone to buy firewood from. Our site was full of poison ivy. The hiking trails were not maintained. If you are not there to boat on the lake I would not recommend staying here. The one positive was the buffet at the lodge which was enjoyable with a nice view of the lake. We will not camp there again.

For Lake Barkley State Resort: We visited the campground 4th of July week and weekend. Our campsite was very uneven and large roots covered the ground. The grass was ankle high at our campsite. We asked if somebody could mow it, and the lady was very nice and said she would take care of it. However, nobody ever showed up to mow it and we ended up doing it ourselves after two days. The bathrooms and showers were out of order from our second day there until we departed. There was one toilet that worked for the entire campsite-on a holiday weekend! Additionally, the bathrooms are designated as storm shelters, but since they had them locked up there was no safe place to go during storms. We left a day early because of the weather. Overall, this campground was a big disappointment. We probably won't use it again.
