For Bumpus Mills: A beautiful, quiet, small campground. Do NOT, I repeat DO NOT, let your GPS try to take you up Hargis Road to get to the campground. They tell me you can get there that way, but it turns into a gravel road with extreme switchbacks and insane slants side to side and makes for a not-so-fun back down the road in a 40’ coach. Don’t ask me how I know, but the correct turn is on Tobaccoport Rd which is maybe a quarter of a mile from Hargis Road. There is a nice farmer where the pavement on Hargis Road turns into gravel that will let you turn around in his driveway. Back to the campground ... it is a typical ACOE campground. We had 50 amp electric and Good water pressure with a beautiful view of Lake Barkley. The cell signal on ATT was 1-2 bars LTE and on Verizon was an iffy 1 bar of 1-3x. It’s a long way to anywhere but the Bumpus Meals Diner serves great food and had amazing pecan pies. Restrooms and showers are typical campground facilities. Cleaned daily and functional.
