For Twin Lakes Recreation Area: It is fine if your intent is to be away from everything. It is in the middle of a shooting range deep in the woods, though there was no shooting going on while we were there (it was raining.) the tiny camping area is about 10 miles from the entrance to the base, so you need to either get there before the MWR office closes or call ahead to have them leave keys to the camp gate and a map for you at the Base's Main Gate.

For Twin Lakes Recreation Area: A rifle range so there is lots of shooting at all hours.
