For Winter Island Park: Been staying here for about 10 years. I stay in the tent areas since they are spaced out better than the RV sections. Nice little walking trails in the trees as well as walking on the roads to see historic areas all over the campgrounds. Fantastic light house being one of the areas! Shore to have fun looking around for small sea life and shells. You can see at least 3 other light houses from the campgrounds as well. I keep coming back since there’s a nice amount to do there.

For Winter Island Park: Great view of lighthouse, but wasn’t keen on the camping in a parking lot feel. Also, lots of raccoons and skunks who are not very shy of people. The park itself was nice, but I’m not positive I would camp there again.

For Winter Island Park: Stayed here for one night in August and thought this was a great little spot. The RV site we stayed in was between a parking lot and a huge hangar, but had lovely water views. The lot cleared out by around 9 and all the other guests were very quiet. There are a few cute sandy beaches within the park, as well as a lighthouse and a historic fort within walking distance. Town of Salem is a flat, 10 min bike ride away. There is a dump area just outside the park, explicit directions provided by super friendly staff. As far as RV sites go, this is one of the more affordable ones we’ve come across for out of staters. Would definitely come back again!

For Winter Island Park: Mixed feelings about this campground. The location and view are amazing. It’s right by the ocean. We had spot #10 which looks right at the main parking lot, so not much for privacy. But you can get up and walk across the parking lot and have morning coffee by the ocean. Unfortunately, there was work being done at the hangar starting before 8am which interfered with the romantic atmosphere. No dump station as far as I found. It’s definitely different. We kept the van there and walked into downtown Salem (30 minute walk).

For Winter Island Park: If you want to see Boston and enjoy Salem, this is a great location. You essentially camp in either a parking lot or field, and some spots have beautiful water views. Staff was super nice and we took a ferry into Boston one day, ride the train the other day. Both are within a few miles of the campground. Gorgeous bay and nice beach with a lighthouse. A gem and if we ever come to the area again we will stay here.

For Winter Island Park: Terrible reservation system and extremely rude staff. Hated to give even one star!

For Winter Island Park: This City Park is just outside of Salem and very a convenient location for visiting all of the museums and other attractions in tow. The park is big, interesting and diverse. RV camping is either in a field up a small hill (where we stayed) on in the main parking lot. This is not a luxury RV resort.
On the other hand it is an interesting location, being a fort for several hundred years. There are trails, a lighthouse, interpretive signs, kayak rentals and great views of the harbor.
Other reviewers have described this as a quirky place, however I really liked it.
