For Andrews AFB FamCamp: Fantastic experience. We extended our stay 3 times and Denise was super helpful. Clean, well run facility close to DC. Free ice, laundry area and concrete pads. Yes there are a lot of rules but this is a military base, what do you expect? Highly recommend and can't wait to return!

For Andrews AFB FamCamp: I have never done a review before but felt I had to for this place. It’s hard getting a reservation here because you can’t get ahold of anyone. When I did finally after dialing all day, the lady that runs this place is not nice at all. Very rude over the phone. While the sites are nice with concrete pads, the amenities here are awful. Restrooms were ok but very outdated and not the cleanest. The laundry room has 2 washers and 2 dryers and 1 of each were out of service. The ice machine was out of order due to mold. The machine itself is like 40yrs old. Time for a new one!! And then the signs!!! OMG they must have about 200 signs pasted EVERYWHERE about the rules!! Where to drive, where pets are/are not allowed. It is so redundant and so ridiculous. Garbage cans, picnic tables, power boxes, trees, stumps of trees, signs posted over other signs. It was the most unwelcome feeling every night we walked our dogs. Pets are really not allowed anywhere here except the dog space which is just gross. My 2 little dogs can get underneath the fencing so it was not usable at all for us. Overall, we would only come back for the location to DC.

For Andrews AFB FamCamp: Stayed APR2019 Pros: 3 stars for the location, base commissary/exchange, and helpfulness of staff member Denise. Very close to the Branch Ave metro station and the Famcamp office has a couple metro “SmarTrip” cards for campers to use if going to see DC! Very convenient! Lots of helpful pamphlets in lounge area for campers to have. Washers and dryers. Ice machine. Tv room and game room/lounge. Cons: The entire park has been “under construction” for what seems like 2 years but it doesnt seem like any work is actually being done. This means that over half of their around 40 spots are unable to be used. Dog park may as well just be a 20x15 cardboard box. Small dogs can walk through the gaps in the fence, big dogs could just step over the fence. Bathrooms could be wayyyyyyyy cleaner. Cob/spider webs all over, showers stained orange from the water, bugs crawling all around. Sinks always dry and paper towels and toilet paper always provided though! Water in shower luke warm at best. Signs posted EVERYWHERE about all of their random strict rules, constantly repeating themselves. It looks like someone got mad and had free reign of a xerox machine. Quite unprofessional looking. Road noise is a little annoying but not a deal breaker. At $22 a night for dry camping / $28 for full hook ups, and being so close to DC, I’d 100% stay here again. The pros definitely outweigh the cons. Im not sure if there are so many cons just because of the construction thing and theyre going to be fixing those issues or not. But i guess we shall see. Happy camping!

For Andrews AFB FamCamp: Pros: price, location to Metro, clean laundry. Cons: they say they have WiFi, but they really don’t. They only mow a small strip around the pot hole road and the grass is full of ticks. We were pulling ticks off our dogs every day. The dog park is a joke, un-mowed, and gaps in the fence big enough the dogs can just walk thru it.

For Andrews AFB FamCamp: I found this place very comfortable a well kept. I had read previous reviews and was aware of those coming here and I just don't get those complaints. Internet is always bad at campgrounds, it's part of camping. The staff, I find them prideful of the campground and expect everyone to take care of their spot, if your a alone they are not afraid of leaving a notice (I have not received any). It's ine of the nicest camps I have stayed at, I'll out Wright Patterson at the top (only because I think it was newer). Lots of spaces, we have a full hookup with concrete slab. It's close to DC metro so it was perfect for what we were looking for. Well done Andres Fam Camp!

For Andrews AFB FamCamp: NOT A FAMILY FRIENDLY CAMP!!! We stayed 7 days at this camp and if I weren't traveling by myself with my 5 homeschooled children I would have left the "FamCamp" on day 2 of being here. The management is over the top strict. There are signs posted everywhere that children must be supervised at all times. We arrived to camp ariund 10pm the first night, the next morning my 4 year old and I walked to the bath house to use the restroom. He finished before me and was washing his hands, the manager flew in and started yelling at him that he needed to be with an adult and was not allowed in the bathroom alone. I hollered from the stall that I was almost finished and he was being supervised. Later that day as I was unloading bins and setting up camp and I left 1 black tote outside my RV and the manager knocked on my door and lectured me about cleaning up around my site, that Obama golfed every weekend on post and the secret service would lock me in my trailer if they couldn't see underneath all areas?! This was for ONE storage tub people!! Then today I apparently was going over the 5mph speed limit (my truck idles high and I was at 7mph) and when we returned home there was a "second warning" notice that I was over the speed limit taped to my door. Not sure what happens after that, and luckily I won't be finding out because we leave tomorrow. I've heard awesome things about Camp Meade and being super friendly and laid back with children. I highly highly recommend NOT staying here if you are not over the age of 65!!!

For Andrews AFB FamCamp: I give it one star for the base commissary alone. The camp site says it has wifi but it will not work on any of our devices and we are the closest to the office where the only routers are located. It is directly next to the golf course and we have found 3 errant golf balls next to our rv now, any of which could have got our rv and/or worse, hit our children in the head! Will not return to this famcamp
