For Timberland Acres RV Park: Nice park, some lots are larger than others, we have a 45’ MH and had a larger lot. Close to Acadia. We spent most of our time in the national park and didn’t take advantage of the amenities. People were nice, park was quite, we would stay here again.

For Timberland Acres RV Park: We stayed in August, w/e site. This is probably one of the nicest campgrounds in the area. The upper sites are smaller and in the trees but the lower sites are very nice. It is a clean park with many seasonal visitors, but this is to be expected in this area. It’s nice and quiet at night, no road noise like you will get at some of the campgrounds closer to the park. laundry room is very clean. Nice pool for the kids. Wifi is for checking email only, no streaming. We have AT&T and didn’t get good reception in this whole area. The owners are very helpful and nice. Lots to see and do in the area.

For Timberland Acres RV Park: Timberland Acres RV Park. We stayed the last week of May, Memorial Day weekend for 7 nights. The park is actually between Ellsworth and Trenton Me. Good paved internal roads, Gravel pads mostly pull throughs. Picnic tables and fire rings at every space. Laundry ($2.50 per load to wash and dry), Firewood and LP Gas are available for sale in the park. In fact, there seems to be an abundance of firewood available in the area. Spacing of the RV sites is a little close but not uncomfortable and the sites are plenty long. The rate for the week was $275 tax included so about $40 a night. There are a good many seasonal trailers in the park There are all of the common stores in the area, Wal Mart is nearby, Hannaford grocery and others also.
The park filled up for Memorial Day weekend and there was a family reunion/returning guest/party atmosphere but is was not loud at all.
There is lots to see in the area, Acadia National Park of course is the big attraction as is the town of Bar Harbor. You should plan a mid-week visit to those and avoid the crowd. Drive around the western side of Mt. Desert island and the towns of Southwest and Northeast Harbors. The houses are pretty spectacular maybe not in size but in location. We took a trolley tour of the park and learned about the “Money†folk who developed the park and donated it to the people of the United States. We drove about 1 ½ hours to Lubec Maine, the most eastern town in the continental United States and also stopped to see the Quoddy Head Lighthouse.

For Timberland Acres RV Park: We stayed here for 5 weeks from the beginning of August until Sept. 15. Wow!what a completely different experience than from another post on this site. We had no problems at all with the water (fixed by the time we arrived) electric was as expected because we knew how much we used. Our neighbors all around were great. Love the location, we took day trips all over Maine! Bar Harbor is a little drive. However, we needed cell service any closer to Acadia and that would have been hard to find. Park is old but kept nice and clean.

For Timberland Acres RV Park: The stated rate is for a month, not including electricity which, by the way, is 20 cents per kWH!! We saw the ratings and took a gamble on this park. BIG mistake! This old, rundown park has too many issues for one review. When we arrived, we were assigned a “metered†space, which was unlevel and so narrow that our small window awnings nearly touched our neighbor’s patio awning. They had to move their 5th wheel to the front of their space because their patio chairs were on top of our sewer hose. The second day we were here, we lost power due to low voltage. Then we lost all water pressure! The maintenance guy came to check the power and indignantly pointed out that it was hot, everyone was running their AC units, and the park’s transformers and power panels were only rated for 200 amps... even though there were six 50 amp circuits running to each of them. WHAT!! That violates electrical code, and that low voltage will kill appliances. Then we get an email stating that the spring from which the park gets its water has nearly run dry. Hence, the loss of water. This was quickly turning into a nightmare! We talked the gracious office staff into moving us to another space, which gave us slightly more room. However, after 4 attempts to level, we finally had to set up at the back of the space, meaning I had to run 2 full sections of sewer hose to reach the dump. During the past couple of weeks, a new well was apparently drilled at the back of the property. Although that seemed to help with pressure, the water now smells and tastes so bad that we can’t drink it. This park is run down and in desperate need of some modernization, as it was obviously built for small campers, without slides, from a bygone era. We are SO ready to get out of here! Rest assured, we will never stay here again. Be forewarned!
