Old time camper

For Detour SF Campground: Nice to be near the lake. Our preferred camping is rustic, no power or water hookup. The toilets are awful smelling, I think they only empty once a season. One of them I was stuck in for awhile as I couldn’t get the lock to unlock. 🤢 didn’t take my phone as I’m always worried it will fall into the vault. But not anything anyone from the outside could have helped with anyway. The worse though is the road in. HORRIBLE!! As much as this campground gets used could the state not put a little gravel in ALL THE POTHOLES!! Makes you wonder who takes care of these places, apparently no one.

Boondock Saint

For Detour SF Campground: Sites 17 or 18 will accommodate a 30’ 5th wheel with not much problem. Be warned with a rig this size the road In is not for the faint of heart and sites 17 and 18 are a common area that form a huge camp site that make it the most popular one in the camp ground. The camp ground is beautiful and Lake Huron is a very short walk from all the sites. Beach is perfect for swimming with gradual slope but the water can be cold

svIntuition

For Detour SF Campground: Nicely wooded sites, some close enough to Lake Huron that you can hear the waves. Three smelly vault toilets and a hand water pump are the only services. Very quiet and still four empty sites on a drizzly August Friday night. Beautiful shoreline and sandy beach. $15 per night by check or cash plus a MI State Park pass if you don’t have one.
