For Traverse City State Park: Pretty much the other reviews cover it with one glaring omission
They’re shut the largest restroom down from 8-9am which is sort of prime time. Tent campers have to scramble and run around the park looking for a restroom. Then there are long lines.
Cleaning restrooms in the morning is thoughtless and foolish.
We won’t be back here for that reason alone.

For Traverse City State Park: Urban state park right in middle of town. 480 sites that are close to each other, but under tall trees. 13 mile, paved TART trail takes off between sites 46-47 and directly across from the pedestrian crosswalk are bus stops for the free BAYLINE bus service to downtown. There is only 1 dump station w 2 dump holes for the entire 480 sites, so usually there’s a line up to dump. I’d stay again, but look at a site map for one of the few paved sites & away from the very noisy adjacent highway

For Traverse City State Park: Very convenient to Traverse City and attractions. Campgrounds are well kept with basic amenities. There is road noise due to close proximity to the main road, but that’s the trade off for location. Camp site are close together with minimal privacy.

For Traverse City State Park: Very popular hence slightly crowded with little privacy. Close to beach and city attractions. Nice showers. Lots of airport noise. We stayed in an electric site 30A. With their arrangement of one power pedestal serving four sites which was on the wrong side for us, coupled with camper directly behind our site encroaching, we could not reach power with our 30A cord. We could only use 20A with extension.

For Traverse City State Park: I have stayed here a number of times, mostly while fishing the nearby Grand Traverse Bays. The location is outstanding if you have plans in or around Traverse City and a bargain when you compare it to the in season nightly price for lodging in the city. The park can get very crowded during the summer. Those in larger rigs may have some difficulty as the roads are narrow.

For Traverse City State Park: We stayed at this state park on the outskirts of Traverse City for 2 nights as we circled the Michigan coastline in our Airstream motorhome. It is a very nice wooded park with lots of shade, but some tips and tricks are needed to know when selecting a site online. There are about 5 6 oval loops radiating out from the center in this very large park. Some of the sites in the outer loop are directly on the main highway 31, so there can be lots of traffic noise. It is electric only service, as are most of Michigan state parks, but all the 3 restrooms/bathhouses are in the center loop. So it can be quite a long walk to get to one unless you break campground etiquette by cutting through sites. Bathhouses were relatively clean but some worked better than others. Dump station and freshwater fill-up area is at the front of the park, and can get very crowded at peak times. You can't fill your freshwater tank within the park as the water spigots are not threaded. The park has an overhead walkway to the beach, and an entrance to the TART bike trail. The staff was very friendly, and overall this is a great park if you want to be close in to Traverse City. We would stay there again, just would choose a different site on one of the inner loops.
