Molly

For KOA Journey Butte: As others have noted, the spots are gravel and some were not as level as others. There are some fantastic bike/jog paths right off the camp site. While they are right near the highway, there is a wildlife refuge there so good for bird watching. There is a dog walk with bags for easy clean up. The sites are crammed in but most people aren’t stopping here for their vacation, this is for the one the way stops when you need to rest. We didn’t use them, but there are laundry facilities. The WiFi was good. I couldn’t get their code to work but I was happy to buy the premium WiFi so that I could work while we were there. There was a playground that my kids enjoyed, as well as a mining exhibit area at the park entrance. You can get instacart to the campground and they will bring it to the site. We had a site with a concrete pad, picnic table and two rocking chairs so that was nice to have a place to have meals and enjoy being outside. While in Butte, you should drive up to see the memorial, the mountain overlook up passed the elementary school, the beautiful building with copper trims. We would definitely utilize this park again if we needed to stop in this area.

Reditch

For KOA Journey Butte: Very nice level sites with rocking chairs and table! Wonderful staff and great fried chicken place on site. The new shower facilities are some of the best we have seen in any Rv park or even some resorts! Only downside was the traffic noise but once the sun went down it dropped to almost nothing so no problem sleeping. Would recommend if in area.

Jim

For KOA Journey Butte: We decided to stay over night on our way to Northern Idaho. Campground is actually very nice. Fairly level pull through spot. We had water and 50 amp service. However we could not dump into the site sewer. They had an out of service sign over the hole. But you could dump your tanks at their dump station. It was no big deal. Would stay here again. The staff was awesome.

Jack and Carol

For KOA Journey Butte: Nice campground with pretty level dirt sites with concrete pads for table and ours was supplied with two rocking chairs in addition to the standard picnic table. No cable but can pick up local TV. Propane fill up available. Chicken from Chicken Shack on site restaurant was good and reasonably priced. Helpful and friendly staff.

Kerry Murphy

For KOA Journey Butte: Nice staff worked with us to get a site we liked. Ended up with upgraded site with nice patio and firepit. Gravel sites, easy hookups. Easy access and level, although not many trees. Well cared for park. Exceptionally clean restrooms and showers.

Nathan

For KOA Journey Butte: It was nice enough for an overnight stay. Located pretty close to the interstate and the sites are really close together. Not a lot of shade. Staff were friendly and helpful. You need to ask for a fire pit if you want one but they’ll bring it promptly. Right next to a hiking/bike path and the tourist information center which looked like it offered trolley tours of the town.

Sandy

For KOA Journey Butte: If it weren't for the walking/biking trail system, this campground would have gotten a two-star review.

Service not nearly as friendly as other KOAs. Asked for a shaded site when we came in and was told there was very little shade in the campground. When we drive in, there were all kinds of sites with trees, unoccupied. First disappointment. Gravel site was sort of level but narrow "grass strip" was not at all.

There isn't anything to look at in the campground when sitting around, except for other campers. And for some reason, they didn't seem to be as friendly as those in the other KOAs either.

Butte is a neat town but we won't stay here again. Oh, and don't order the fish at the Chicken Shack. I threw mine away.
