Erin

For Yogi Bears Jellystone in the Smokies: Not the typical Yogi Bear campground we are used to. Pro- we had site 14( said for 24 ft rv) we were able to fit our 25 ft rockwood mini lite comfortably. Beautiful river spot! Hearing the river right outside our camper was amazing! Kids could go down & play in the river. We did enjoy tubing right from our campsite but we aware that the river current is pretty fast! You will have to bring your own tubes since they aren’t renting them. Neg- It’s not like other yogi bear campgrounds b/c their characters only made visits on Saturday’s & most activities only take place on the weekends. We visited during the week & were only able to participate in a daily craft. Bathrooms were not very clean. Laundry mat seemed pricey-$3 per load. Plus with the coin shortage we could only get $5 in quarters. Their change machine wasn’t working. NO cell service. We had to go into town if we needed internet. Overall we will Be back.

Big George

For Yogi Bears Jellystone in the Smokies: Overall a 2 star rating.

Pros: Very nice site 134 on the river. More spacious than most other riverfront sites - they are generally packed very close together.

Cons: Road into the campground is awful - combination of busted up plastic speed bumps and regular ones make it very rough getting air into the park.

One huge downside to this park is the distance out of Cherokee - there is no Verizon cell coverage that we could find anywhere in the park.

The cable TV was down for whatever reason - picture too snowy to watch and the staff tried briefly but gave up on repairing it. And given the location, the antenna on the roof of our Class C picked up exactly zero signal!

The wi-fi was down on the weekend we were there and the staff didn't seem to care much to get it running again after rebooting the router failed to work. We were told that even when it is working, it is very poor and only functions in certain areas of the park near the store/office and laundry room.

The prices are way too high for the level of amenities this campground has to offer. And there was no offer of refunds of any amount due to the lack of internet and cable tv. We won't be back.

For Yogi Bears Jellystone in the Smokies: I can see the appeal of this campground for fishermen or kids. For the full-timer, keep looking.

Pros: Clean grounds and showers -w- 24hr laundry & camp store (which for some reason closes at 5pm).

Cons: Road into campground in dismal shape complete with potholes and those suspension shattering plastic speed bumps.

Big Cove rd, which leads you 10 miles from any AT&T signal (Verizon seems to be the choice of the indigenous), is narrow, and in fair-poor condition.

WiFi is limited to the area around the store. I was told the satellite router was bad but it was being fixed. They didn't fix it the 8 days we stayed... How hard is it to buy a new router?

CROWDED! This was our chief complaint. The sites are on top of each other, obviously laid out with maximum profit in mind. Zero privacy, zero peace & quiet on the weekend.
