LunaRover

For Cottonwood Campground - Theodore Roosevelt NP: We drove in and got the only open spot that morning. Friendly camp hosts who helped us identify the site, which was inexpensive. No hook ups but we are self contained and didn’t need anything nor did we check out the facilities. Nice spacing around us (#32) with plenty of cottonwood covering for shade. The rangers did a surprising amount of patrolling (it seemed like every 45 minutes) which meant making sure our dog was leashed/constrained at all times. But a nice place for our quick overnight visit.

Gooder Days

For Cottonwood Campground - Theodore Roosevelt NP: $14/nite no hook ups but spacious and good views. Odd # sites reservable 5 days in advance even # sites first come, we stayed in 14&16 and enjoyed our stay in A 25’ class C. Water at entrance and non threaded spigots in park, great for a few days passing thru

Bon

For Cottonwood Campground - Theodore Roosevelt NP: The only reason I gave it 1 star is because the ranger at front gate was so friendly and helpful. When we got to cottonwood campground they had a few sites for one nite. Which was fine for us. We have a popup camper. Guy said he would find us a spot. 2 motor homes came in while we were waiting. He gave the spot he said was ours to 1 of them. Than he found another spot for other motor home. I asked him about it and he asked where we were from I said South Dakota he told me a state park was down the road. First time camping in North Dakota never again.

For Cottonwood Campground - Theodore Roosevelt NP: Typical National Park ... no hookups but level and safe... it's all about location! Very back to nature campground. #HisRoadTrip book 4 www dot HisRoadTrip dot com

Roadbum

For Cottonwood Campground - Theodore Roosevelt NP: Lovely setting near the Little Missouri. Spacious treed sites. The South Loop is closer to the river. Site 23 looks out on a small meadow and is pretty private. A path through the meadow leads to the river. Lots of ticks in the grass lining the path. There are recycling and trash bins. Restrooms are clean with flush toilets and towels. Lots of wildlife here. Bison roam freely through the campground and meadow. To my delight and the cat's horror, one walked right into our campsite one morning (we were all in the RV) and began rubbing his head on our picnic table. Few sites are completely level. We stayed here in May in a campervan.

Sandy Wetzel

For Cottonwood Campground - Theodore Roosevelt NP: May 15, 2017. For a campground with no hook ups for our 40ft MH, this was a lovely one. In the park, a number of pull-throughs to choose from, quiet during the week, good views. When we arrived on the 11th.the pull thru loop was open, 38 spots, no water in the spigots, but the next day the back-in loop was opened and water was available. We were told the even #s were first come, the odd #s were reservable. We took #24 and were very satisfied with it.
The senior pass rate of 3.50/night was unbeatable.
Verizon wifi reception was decent. Visitors Center helpful and the town of Medora a few miles away.
This is a gem of a NP with a RV-friendly campground. Thank you!
