For KOA Journey Alamogordo White Sands: We have a 35 foot 5th wheel, sites are level and easy to get into (been to some KOAs where this was not true) and the staff is helpful and friendly!! We had a Trailer issue, they recommended an excellent tech. This place is clean and neat, bathrooms are too! Price was inexpensive.

For KOA Journey Alamogordo White Sands: We stayed here on December 23 in a class C 26 foot RV. This was only our second stay at a KOA so we don’t have a lot of experience with this style of campground. That being said we found the staff extremely friendly and the value at $40 a night for a pull through for hook up with a grill and a patio area was amazing . It is surrounded by an industrial area that’s true. But you can see the mountains from your window and it is centrally located. White Sands national Park is 20 minutes away and all the shopping is on 10th St. not far away. We were here for Christmas Eve. And they set out luminaries all around the park which was beautiful. They also had activities for the kids inside. I really appreciated the staff and owners genuine engagement with their guests. I felt they really were committed to providing an enjoyable visit. All I was very impressed.

For KOA Journey Alamogordo White Sands: This camp ground really tries to maintain the same standards as other KOAs but it seems to be on the downward slide. From afar it seems to be a standard KOA, however, once you start your stay you recognize some issues.
The cons:
The campground is surrounded by either run down trailer homes or businesses. A train track is just down the street and is very active. Last night it seemed a train was blowing its horn every 45 minutes as it sped by. Some of their long term residents keep their site as if they are trying to blend in with the run down neighbors.
The pros:
The majority of the staff is very friendly. The campground itself seems to be maintained fairly well. The location in centrally located within the city.
In general, I don’t fault the campground for their surroundings but i wish others would have discussed some of this place’s drawbacks before made the decision to spent almost 40/night.

For KOA Journey Alamogordo White Sands: We just did an overnight and didn’t use any facilities but the place was clean, sites level, staff very friendly and helpful. We did use the provided gas grill and appreciated the free cable TV.

For KOA Journey Alamogordo White Sands: We did stay here twice- going and coming. Very clean restrooms and showers and laundry room. Small sites but a nice patio with divider between sites so private. Large store. Staff very helpful.
